Well, it's as simple as this: I need to make $20 for every hour that I am actively drawing, or I can't afford to draw for a living. So I try to find ways to make it worth the money, or ways to use my time more efficiently so I can offer more per hour and keep rates the same. It's a business at the end of the day, so no matter how passionate I am about art... if I can't make money at it I won't have time to do it for others because I'll have to start some other sort of business. Unfortunately(or fortunately depending on your perspective), my rates are still about half of the industry standard. :P
Right now I'm working on coming up with commission options that are more in the $20-40 range since I realize most of the options I have here are outside of a lot of folks' budgets. There's some really cool stuff coming up out of it, so there is plenty to look forward to in the very near future, and I'll be updating my price sheet to better focus on those options. c:

It totally depends on the scale of the commission, and the complexity of the character. If I'm doing a full illustration it's really almost considered a given that there will be more than one character in the image, so unless it's a really complex character with huge wings or something, I don't charge much extra because it's such a large image anyway.
If it's a small commission, generally anything under $200, unless the characters are both really simple, the cost is the same for a second character as it is for the first, maybe a bit less. Reason being I have to be tighter with the time spent on each image to keep it on budget. I deliberately price them as low as I can, banking on the fact that I can work quickly enough to still maintain a profit margin. That way they stay affordable. c: But unfortunately it means I'm already being as leniant as I can be with pricing and I have to charge for any extra content.

AW JEEZ. It's not too complicated for you, man. Just toss your ideas out and I'll give you a quote. Even if you don't have a clear idea yet, I can usually give you a ballpark figure. You can generally expect base price with me anyway, on account of being one of my favourite best ever people to work for. ;)
