Charita (Sha-REE-tah) was never one to let others dictate the things she wanted for herself, and once she set her mind to something, she was not easily dissuaded.

In a way, basketball was sort of an escape. Mama Hendley never really appreciated her daughter's tomboyish nature. She appreciated her coming out as a lesbian even less. Sports were, however, an aspect of her life over which her mother had no control. The more time she spent at practice at school, the less she'd have to deal with her mother's passive-aggressive comments at home. While she mainly took up the ball as a "take that" to her mother, she genuinely enjoyed playing. A lack of family support hasn't stopped Charita from doing what she liked, and she eventually found herself accepted to Warrenton University in Wilmington, DE on a basketball scholarship.

Charita does her best work as a shooting guard, and is as well known for being able to perform well in clutch situations as she is for her precision three-point shooting.
