A Step in Time
A special order Matte Painting commission for 
tsarin
My first Matte Painting commission and my first attempt to matte paint on a scale this grand.
I know that Matte Paintings aren't in my menu selection yet, but thankfully the client was faithful enough to trust me with this, even without a sample. Unlike my previous Digital Paintings, Matte Paintings depend on pictures and photographs and so I charge by the number of elements needed to be blended in. The goal is to blend elements so well that it looks like an part of the original picture.
I will eventually add this into my menu selection sooner or later because, well... this is basically what I do at work.

I love the intricate level of detail you've put into this piece. It's outstanding. Totally off the charts. I can pick out each separate building even from the farthest distance. And the lighting... The reflections are very impressive. Your use of special effects has earned more respect from me for your talents. Beautiful work.

Well Matte Painting uses a collage of pictures and photographs so most of the detail comes with the pictures I use. The only credit I deserve is for blending the pictures together, and of course, for the elements that I drew in myself through Digital Painting.

You know what's the one good thing about my not being able to make a picture like that myself? I have no way of knowing if you made any mistakes, or would have liked to do something differently than you did. I am extremely impressed. You are very talented!
