Because it could be fun to watch, and I imagine you won't kill us immediately if things go a bit south.

You know the last time a gaming group said that to me when I was Dungeon Master on D&D group they actually died. The entire group, but seriously 5 Lv.1 characters should always run from dragon that is twice the size of an average house that's burning down a village and not attack it. Although I can say they died heroic their demise was rather swift... took only one fire breath from an ancient red dragon. They ignored my warnings that at their current level it was next to impossible to defeat such an awesome adversary. And I had to let the dragon attack them once. But even on my lowest rolls and they making their reflex saves they would be burned to ashes and that just happened.

Fortunately they learned from this and made all new characters whom somehow were related to either the heroes that died or the village that had been attacked and vowed to hunt and kill the dragon. But 1st they would train until they were ready for it. And so a long adventures campaign started which ended with the final confrontation against the dragon the slew the original party.

Of course this is not currently the case. It's gulpa which is kinda great white shark of Gank. Maneater fish but one that should not be hard to defeat if the party doesn't do anything stupid and with stupid I don't even mean trying to tame it. No only one of those 5 options above is actually an indirect choice to let the party lose. ^^;

I'm not -that- daft. XD

I figured this thing couldn't be insanely difficult if it was weighed down by a simple empty chest, which is why I thought this was a good opportunity to tame it. Plus, I assumed you wouldn't MURDER us on the very first encounter, 'cuz that's just unfair. XD
