How dare you say traditional art is dead >.<
Traditional art shows that the artist is actually skilled in the field and knows how to manipulate and create using mediums other than a crappy computer program that does all the work for you!
Blotch = Amazing because of his traditional art!

It's not using a crappy program that does all the work for you!
You still have to be able to draw ahaha.
Of course traditional art isn't dead. Imo, it's x10 more impressive than photoshop and corel stuffs. (well, if you're good at it).
I wish I could learn to paint, but I can't deal with any chemicals special reasons. So, I use the computer, and it's fun ;]
I'm just saying it's better for an artist to go out of the box and explore new things. Broaden your horizons.

I have a tablet, and I am not addicted to it. I'm addicted to paint, to the feel of graphite scraping primitively on pulped and pressed paper, to the smell of watercolours as they liquefy with water and the scent of wet pig and rabbit hide when you wet a sheet of Hot-Pressed Arches with a confident wash. To the thrill of no undo and no layers and no save, to the reassurance that no matter how many splatters I make the painting won't suddenly crash and corrupt. To the heaps of paper which clutter the room around your light-table as you spend an entire ream animating 60 seconds of half a figure walking. To the gratification of holding a completed original in my paws and knowing that as awesome as digital art looks and as easy it may be to make, I can still wield water and paint like the Old Masters. ;]
*lifts his chateau to you* here here!
Traditional art, in my own opinion and trade, is the only art that can truly show a master's skill. There is NO substitute. I do have a lot of digital pieces, but still, nothing can compare to the beauty of oils, pastels, acrylics, markers, pencils, graphite or any other physical medium on the canvas.

As an artist who uses both traditional and digital mediums extensively, I heartily disagree. I enjoy both equally - each has it's failings and triumphs - and find that each takes artistic skill. And honestly? I find traditional mediums much easier to manipulate than digital mediums.
I can do it, it just takes me longer. :) Probably because I can be more exactly and intentional digitally, and thus get all OCD about my piece when I'm working that way. And for certain projects, I prefer the digital look, so it's worth the effort to do so. It's just another medium like any other - all I'm saying is don't sell it short! :)
*looks through his gallery and takes a deep breath but then exhales to a normal breath* I wont sell it short. Its honestly how a lot of my art is done. I do prefer traditional above the rest, but a commission and ref sheet is still a commission, one way or another. the ref sheets are better digital b/c of how exact they can get. However, when it comes to badges and really tender true art, art that means something to me, I prefer traditional (aka, my badges and stuff for my boyfriend and I together)
