Proper Victorian Gentleman Auric (by Ashe Skyler)
This is quick sketch of my jackal/gryphon 'sona Auric dressed as a proper Victorian gentleman. It was drawn by artist Ashe Skyler ( http://www.raven-wing.net/ ) after a comment about Auric wearing a vest (instead of the loincloth he is wearing in his refsheet). I thought it would be good to post this to help show that Auric is a flexible character who can appear in multiple settings -- what good is a 'sona if you can't show up in different places. I like how Auric looks so dignified and peaceful in the sketch.
Somehow I envision the setting for that Victorian outfit being British colonial India since Auric seems to favor Egyptian to Asian settings, though he can pop up anywhere and Steam Victorian also came to mind. A book/tome or walking cane would also work in place of the umbrella. Auric's jewelry is designed more for fantasy settings rather than modern or sci-fi, but in the Victorian outfit Auric's amulet could be on the cover to his watch (the outside or inside).
The Victorian outfit would go best with Auric's plantigrade, tailless form (form #1 if wingless, form #2 if winged, on my scale of 1 to 5), since Auric typically doesn't have his wings when there is no need for them such as in more scholarly or formal settings unless there is a reason to be showing them, e.g. wings are a part of social status, or wings are ok in the setting but shapeshifting isn't. The idea of flying in that pressed formal Victorian outfit reminds me of this DMFA comic: http://missmab.com/Comics/Vol_1292.php
