Stell, during his studies of the Altered Matter, moves to another room down the hallway.
Sometimes the mirror shows more than is intended...
Stell/Stella, the male/female forms, are one and the same character. Different personalities inhabiting the same body, shifting it's gender and look depending on who is in control.
I finally managed to get an awesome picture showing them both off at the same time. Just to note though, it's not like some tv show where a mirror reveals the differences, this is just to show what each looks like.

Yea, they're the same character who has two personalities in one body. Due to the experiments that caused this to happen, whichever personality is in control at the time is what gender the character is. While Stell is in control, it's a male character. While Stella is, it's a female.
