This is a sketch that I commissioned from Skyler-Ragnarok showing an example of three different styles for drawing jackals: Anubian, Semi-Anubian, and Realistic golden jackal. This is intended to be a helpful reference to help illustrate the different styles that are often used for jackals in furry art. The Semi-Anubian example in the middle is my own 'sona, Auric. He has long hair/headfur here but that is not necessary, his ‘hair’ tends to be more of a short mane in many newer drawings. Either length is acceptable. His 'bangs' (the front edge of his headfur) can be slightly unruly or combed, but it shouldn't be hanging over his eyes.

I did a minor edit on 7/20/15 to shorten Auric's ears for the version here in my gallery, since I wanted Auric's bust to be a good reference of my 'sona for others to use.
