Very cool! Always nice to see a bit of the process for such an amazing artist. How're you going about handling the different materials like the fabric and armor?

Thanks!
The floral pattern on the king-dude's doublet is an overlay (I was feeling lazy)--the rest is just referenced from various photos and mashed at with a blender until it looked half-way right.

In the first frame, did you start with the values or the line sketch?

I didn't do a value test (largely because I wanted for all the characters to be mostly back-lit), and instead dove right into establishing the background tones, then took that to the characters.

Really appreciate you posting these WIPs to such a excellent artwork, Blackteagan. Particularly gratified to see how you work from the background "forward" and only then render each character.
