"You only stop fighting when you are dead."
She was born into a life of fear. Having been 'captured' along with many of her family, she was 'owned' as an illicit slave. For her formative years, she learned the pain defiance brought. Her and the whipping stick became old friends. As she neared puberty, a group of other slaves began to steal her away; taking her from the master's reach for short times, and beating her. Every day, they came, and every day they were brutal. After a few months, she began to see rhythms in their attacks; glimpses of stances, body movements, steps, strikes, punches... She took each attack as a way to learn; she let them come, playing the part every time. At night she would go out into the fields and practice; reliving each fight, recalling every impact, assimilating every movement until it flowed together. At the end of her 13th year, they came again. She entered their circle freely. The second-in-command of this minor band threw a mighty right, she merely lifted her hand, and caught his fist; absorbing and redirecting its force. As she caught it, she glared up at him with her golden eyes, and simply said "No." Her response was firm, but final. The few in the group that caught her single word's ominous undertone turned to flee; terrified. The man took his fist back and swung again...
In a matter of minutes, she stood alone, victorious; their unconscious forms heaped about the room. She did not feel the elation one would expect. Instead, there was only a burning hatred of her tormentors; her 'owners'. (---)
She has a penchant for Leather. She pursues life with a devil-may-care spirit, and the inner strength to back it up. She also tends to favor finger-less gloves. She also adores alcohol; the stronger, the better.
She has an innate dislike of 'formal forms' of Martial Art, as the rigid structure involved has too many limitations. She also regards those who militantly adhere to that structure as foolish and weak-willed. While she has this disdain towards a focused art, she employs an amalgam of styles; (Wing Chun, Karate, Kempo, Bajiquan), which she had learned and honed to survive. It is highly adaptable and absolutely devastating. In addition, she prefers to keep her opponent off-balance by any means, often through taunts, intimidation and provocative behavior. She's also given to flirting, regardless of gender.
She relegates her fighting style into levels she personally refers to as 'gears'; Neutral, 1st, 2nd, and Overdrive.
"Neutral": She reserves a lot of her strength, and stands with one hand (usually her right) extended in a 'come here' pose, the other tucked effortlessly behind her back. She uses this 'gear' when she feels her opponent is no match for her. Often, she'll feign effort in order to lull her opponent into believing they have the upper hand, only to annihilate them with authority later.
"1st Gear": She takes on a more defined stance, both hands at the ready. She begins to take the fight much more seriously. She attacks interchangeably with both hands, and utilizes elbows.
"2nd Gear": The fight takes on a whole new level. She takes an aggressive stance, and focuses all her attention on sheer damage. Pressure point techniques, mechanical advantage locks, and even eye-gouging is on the table.
"Overdrive": There is no more fight; it's an all-out brawl. Gone is a set stance, and in its wake, an ever-shifting blur of motion. She is geared to win, at any cost. She will utilize anything and everything to her advantage; the least of which is 'dirty fighting'. Anything usable as a weapon is fair game; her mission at this point is her enemy's destruction: Nothing less.
Rivalry: She met Gina Sorento in an Amateur MMA Tournament. Her 'style' could not be quantized as being a single art, so she was able to enter.
As a matter of course, she learned early on that fighters strike hard objects to toughen and strengthen their hands. Following this logic, she started a drastic regime; she doesn't use bricks or logs; she uses boxes of rolls of pennies. As one would expect, the cardboard and paper holding them together don't last long under her assault. So, she empties the freed change into a large punching bag for continued use. To date, she's got over $300 worth in there.
Under her hard exterior, she's a fan of Anime and games. She rides a Yamaha VMAX ( http://i2.wp.com/www.asphaltandrubb.....-studio-01.jpg ), and even sports a custom yellow helmet with a tinted Visor and 'ear scoop' vents (a la 'Durarara'). ( http://www.embercraftcreations.com/.....lty-helmet.jpg ) She is 2nd generation Chinese American, though a lot of her accent has diminished over the years. It only really comes out when she is really tired or inebriated.
