To help promote the CGI feature film "Zootopia" - on the week following the annual Academy Awards ceremony - the Disney animators created a series of mock movie posters, spoofing some of the titles of 'Best Picture' nominees with "Zootopia" cast members (e.g. "The Hibernant" with 'Kevin' the polar bear)...
Well, I decided to try my hand (er, paw) at doing a movie poster parody myself. With apologies to the late graphic artist Saul Bass, I'd rendered my own version of his classic "West Side Story" poster art - replacing the human characters with that of a familiar fox and rabbit duo. And I'd removed part of the fire escape imagery, so that what remains was shaped like a giant letter 'Z' (for you-know-what). Even the names in the "WSS" credits were changed to animal-related puns.
I hope you nostalgia buffs enjoy this classic parody!

Correct, foxnz. It won for 'Best Picture', 'Best Director', 'Best Supporting Actor', 'Best Supporting Actress', 'Best Editing', 'Best Cinematography', 'Best Art Direction', 'Best Costume Design', 'Best Sound' and 'Best Score'. The only nomination that "WSS" didn't win was 'Best Adapted Screenplay'.
You got me thinking way to hard about how this would play out if it was an actual movie.
If I were writing this screen play it would be based around two rival gangs. The Sharks, and The Pets. The main characters would be Tony, a Shar Pei, and Ex- Leader of the Pets; and Maria, Shark Who Moves to the city form the Ocean who just wants to live a her life like any other normal land dweller.
