The fashions of the 1940s through the 2000's as modeled by my snowserval avatar... This was a fun study in different decades, and fashions - I did some research for each, although I limited myself to what I felt I would actually wear, given that decades fashions...
As a child of the 80's, that particular outfit was the most fun for me ^.^.
The original will be for auction in the Anthrocon art show
Done with Micron inks, tria markers and acrylic paints on 11"x14" illustration board. (most of it is acrylics, but I needed some marker to do the more vibrant shades of pink and green in the 60's and 80's outfits)

I thought about doing that - but I thought this way it makes the viewer have to think about it a little longer =) Plus I thought it was pretty easy since they are directly in order from left to right.. Although I do agree that the 90s and 00s are pretty similar in style, but thats the way it seems to be anyways ^.^
Its probably just because it is so colorful. I painted the outfits first, and tried to make them balance well with eachother, while still maintaining their individual characteristics - but even so, its a lot of colors to put together. Originally i was planning on having the 80's one have bleached blonde hair with blue roots - but once I got to painting the hair, the whole piece was already so colorful that I decided that would be too much....
Wow, I love this. Everytime I try to think of which one looks best I keep going to a different one. The thing is, I love the older looks and the newer looks. So basically it's all around awesome.=) Tho the sunglasses of the 80's were a little off. They weren't bad but a tinge off in my opinion. The 80's were the obviously wildish era.=P When I watched a show where they showed the streets in the streets in the 80's I was slightly like woah. 0.0 But I gotta say that I love the legwarmers from that time for some reason.
That's a great piece right there which musta taken a lotta work. And Kacey looks awesome in all of them.

Amazing job, they are all so wonderful, I cant decide on a favorite. Though i do remember those 80's styles, lol.
I love it, and not only the clothing, each you sines with a personality that reflects the style of the era.
I have to say though, there are some very interesting styles in the 30's 20's and 10's, I would have loved to see what you would have done with those styles. I mean, think about it, "a century of style". Going from practically victorian type clothing, though flappers in the 20's, then the conservative 40's and 50', trough the outrageous 80's, to today, wow, that would have been even more mind blowing.
I do understand how much extra work it would have been, but i still would have loved to see it

you know i wish i was like you, and got lucky to see all of the 1980's as a kid but i got stuck being a late 80's through 90's kid, and all i got to see was the age of riot's, violents, short lived golden age, and now i feel sorry for the kids soon to be born into generation kill.
