What a WONDERFUL artist. Patient, attentive, competent, talented, reasonably priced...what more could you ask for? Quaylak got my art done ON TIME and went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure I was absolutely satisfied with the art I paid for, completely changing up certain areas of the stripes up to FIVE TIMES until I was completely satisfied with it on every level, doing a total of 7 drafts and this finishing ink.
A quote from Quaylak in one of her e-mails to me:
"Reference sheets are for making sure whoever you commission doesn't mess up, so having the perfect visual aid is the best way to just that. Constant changes to get things perfect comes with the job, as far as I'm concerned, so I have plenty of patience when I work with folks on their sheets. You are no exception, so don't feel like you're bugging me by asking for things. You're totally right in thinking that if you're going to drop that much money on something, they better get it right! lol! And thanks very much, I'm glad you're pleased so far. I'll be up until this sheet is finished tonight!"
THAT is a show of TRUE character. If you need a commission for ANYTHING, by all means, COMMISSION THIS ARTIST. It's worth every penny, I guarantee it.

Yes, the artist worked very hard for me on my reference sheet and got it to me exactly when we agreed, even WITH all of the minor changes that were made. He (or she, I really haven't figured it out. xP) really satisfied me with the outcome of the art, getting every detail correct in the stripes until it was perfect to my vision. As for my review, I am known to be very strict in my thoughts and critique. Most artists cannot handle the nitpicking I make to each and every detail and begin to complain after only a few changes. Yes, I understand that it is hard work to draw something like this, but it is hard work for me to get the money to pay for it too. All they have to do is draw, something they should love to do anyway, right? If they don't love to do it for the pay they receive, DON'T DO IT! Am I right? Something very unique about this artist is that the artist sticks to their word, gets it done on time, giving a specific date of completion, and MAKES SURE THE CUSTOMER IS SATISFIED WITH EVERY DETAIL OF THE WORK BEING DONE. So do I think he is wonderful and as great as I put him off to be? In light of other artists I have dealt with, his is much more than that. I don't do it often, but I have such a confidence in this artist, that I can guarantee you will be happy with the outcome of your art if you specify everything you want. Even after only working with him once, I can tell he is true to his word and very good with his customer service. Definitely someone I would trust with my money.
And as the buyer, I believe that if I am truly happy with the hard work that an artist has put in, it is my duty to tell everyone I know how well I was treated and the quality of work I received. That way, they are able to snag more commissions through referrals and actually make a bit more money off of each and every piece that they do. Word of mouth is a powerful thing...something a lot of artists have yet to see. The better you treat your customers, the less you treat them like wallets, and the more you treat them like an individual hiring you for your services, the more popular your art and work will become. It takes talent in addition to that, but great customer service is hard to find these days. THAT is why I put my review here. THAT is why I want people to see just how happy I am with the work I received. And by all means...let them know I referred you. =D

It really is shocking to me to know that how I do business and handle commissioners/customers is considered a "rare" quality. Like I think I may have mentioned, I don't often commission other artists, so I don't know how most do business. I've heard horror stories before on different "beware" communities, but I didn't think those situations were becoming commonplace. It's disappointing to hear that folks aren't receiving what I consider "basic" customer service when dealing with people who are paying them for their art. Then again, according to some other commissioners I've had in the past, I also seem to fall into that rare category of artists who don't have commissions leftover from two years ago. ;p
Anyway. You are too kind to share such praise and your referrals are most appreciated! I totally believe in word-of-mouth when it comes to gaining business. I'm just happy that you're happy. Now stop making me puff all up and blush, haha. X3
And just for the record (and I already informed Osee), I am indeed a gal! :D

I think one of the big things that really surprised me was your patience with my stripes. I am big on small details and with most artists get very frustrated at me with my nitpicking. When I nitpick, I think that the artist gets the impression that I do not like their work, which is not the case. I have actually lost a couple friends due to commissioning them from this. I am very happy that there are artists out there like you who DO understand that customer service is just as much a part of the job as the drawing. I look forward to commissioning you again in the future and will definitely be telling my friends about you.
Also...if you're a gal, you must be from the south too then, hmm? I don't know any northern gals. They are all girls up there. *Smirks*
