heh, well in Dungeons and Dragons, a character named Bob or some variation...is ALWAYS max level (usually 20th) and is generally thrown in when a player needs to be taught a lesson or some such. And they can usually kick the players butt. :P For instance in one game I played one player killed a cow belonging to the local monk...whose name happened to be bob. Bob promptly demanded payment for the cow, the player refused so Bob kicked his butt and took his weapon away from him as payment. lol.
oh no.. see the weapon was an extremely powerful magical item that he built himself witht he gold we were given to start the higher level campaign. He poured ALL of his money into that ONE item..and when the monk did that, he purposefully had his character kill himself so he could make a new character. lol. Bob was being easy on him, he took it to the extreme loll.
Oh dear. Obviously there's some of this story we're not aware of right now but clearly something has gotten to Fen. And why is she being kept in the monastery, anyway?
I am also wondering about this confrontation. On the one hand, Fen seems exceptionally powerful. On the other hand, she'd be outnumbered 2:1 and those two have trained at the monastery for much longer. So a fight may indeed not go well. But even if/when Fen does lose it is likely she could end up causing serious damage in the mean time.
Them saying "We don't want to hurt you" is a bad idea and is not how you De-escalate a situation with someone that is clearly perturbed and angry, though.

Good to have you back.
Seems like we're kicking off this chapter with possibly a few kicks being traded with Fen and Mis' servants. This is not going to be pretty, is it?
I almost wonder if Jennifer has a few surprises of her own, just as interesting and potentially as dangerous as Vix and Fen. Though I wouldn't be surprised if she was a dirty fighter too.

When you threaten a monk, a line of code runs in their mind. It runs probability tables. If the monk stands aside, that means you had a greater than 25% chance of winning.
If they don't, don't favor your odds of walking away very highly.
That being said, think for a second about _who_ had them stand guard and what _she_ knows about what Fen is capable of. Would she honestly have put somebody in that position who couldn't curbstomp her?

Fen has a lot of power, but not much control, especially when angry or otherwise emotionally compromised. Even if the twins can't take Fen in a stand-up fight (and at this point there probably few things that can if she really cuts loose), they probably have enough skill and technique to ensure Fen will never be able to actually land a punch.
Huh, are both of the twins named Jennifer, like some kind of one mind/two bodies link? Or are they telepathically linked but technically distinct? Maybe they're just skilled at speaking at the same time? I don't know, but I look forward to finding out! Also, good to see Fen back in action!
