Commission 1 of 3 for my mother-in-law. And I gotta say, I'm really really pleased with how this came out.
I really experimented with this one, and went out of my comfort zone a few times. But I learned quite a bit from this piece. Definitely has to be one of my most time-consuming works yet.
The background was inspired from the landscape of Hood River, Oregon. It is a most beautiful place, in the gorge on the Columbia River. I just got back from there about a week ago. My uncle took me on quite a few hikes, all lush green pine forests and cliffs. Didn't care for the height, though. ;)
This is %100 colored pencil. :D

Not really. Her and Dark Natasha were inspirational when I first began doing anthros about a year ago, but now it's developed into somewhat of my own style, I hope. There's so many anthros out there to begin with, and whenever a Native American inspired piece comes up, many people refer to Goldenwolf or a few others simply beacuse they are so widely known. My work had always revolved around fantasy and tribal/Native American long before I even knew of Goldenwolf. So technically, not inspired from her, though I know you meant nothing negative. :)
This size was 8x10 on Smooth Bristol, of which I have just discovered I like much more than Vellum Bristol.

Smooth wins over vellum hands down haha. Glad you found it. :)
You definitely have your own style. I meant nothing negative by the comment. Goldie is a good friend of mine and still inspires me to this day, as do many other artists. I'm adding you to the list. I look forward to the weeks ahead when I finish my backlog of commissions and can work on some personal art again; it's been much too long!
