this is essentially the same plan as the niles one, so if anyone wants to see what inside the 'telerapher's' office in one of those looked like when it was working. the two levers on the right are the train order signal. you can see a couple of hoops next to them. the guy with his back to us, working there, is my dad. in addition to copying train orders off from the dispatcher. he sold passenger tickets, freight services, and western union telegram service. the speaker on a crane to his right is the dispatcher's line. as is the mike for it hidden by his head. the other mike on a crane to his and our left, is the uhf radio, for communicating with train and engine crews and whatever other equipmet was equiped with them. by his left hand you see the manual typewriter used to copy train orders. on the desk behind him, in front of us, the two phones, one was the outside local line and the other the railroad's 800 line. which insidentaly could be patched over from one to the other.
