This was a fun one to do. A friend told me there was a contest being held by Sucker Punch Studios, the makers of the Sly Cooper series of video games. The contest only had 30 days left, but being a raccoon lover I had to give it a shot.
Sly was made out of fleece and spandex to emulate the cell shading style used in the games, a smoother texture rather than fur. I started in on the head which was built on sheets of stiff cross link foam for a flat surface, the hat was the same process. The backpack, wrist pieces, feet and sickle were based on foam. The handle, a broom stick. A good friend of mine assisted in the sewing of the spandex while I worked on the head, belt and backpack.
The suit was completed just hours before the end of the contest and won first place. It was featured on their website for a year.
