Good question. Would the black hole consume the Vitrin orb, or would the orb consume the black hole?

Depends on what 'consume' means. A black hole is just very very dense, but other than being a giant trash compactor it doesn't actually make matter no longer exist. If it 'consumes' things like eating it then it could plausibly just eat the black hole. Might give it a stomach ache but it'd be no different than eating a rock or something else far too dense to normally eat.

Actually a back hole does destroy a ton of mass if it's a spinning black hole ripping apart even electrons and neutrons into nothing but an energy imprint. rather more terrifying is some black holes even produce a shadow of existence it's self in there rotational wake. An actual frame drag at the speed of time/light. Which means you can actually drop something into this frame rate drag of a black hole and get out more energy then you started with at a substantial rate because due to time dilatation it spend longer in it's lower orbit then it should increasing it's speed.

I just recently watched a documentary on black holes on Netflix. Physicists are still trying to conjecture what happens between the event horizon (point beyond which light or anything else can escape) and the singularity (center where all mass is concentrated to a point of infinite density and space time is curved infinitely).

A thought did occur to me though. Time comes to a standstill at the event horizon. So from the point of view of any object that crosses the event horizon, and eternity would go by in an instant. Then again, you've yet to reveal what is inside the Vitrin core, so who knows where this would go.

As someone who enjoys world-building, creating characters and stories and runs a few DnD campaigns, I'm very curious how far ahead you've got the comic figured out, or if you're only a few pages ahead and keep working on it as it goes.

I would be amazed if you had this story arc thought up all the way back when fen wound up at the monastery, but at the same time it would not surprise me that much.

I know where it ends, as well as some milestones along the way, everything else gets worked out a few pages in advance. I just sketched up the next three pages today.

It's not an unreasonable idea, but yeah, it's not a great conclusion. Besides, chucking it out of view doesn't solve the problem, it just makes it so you can ignore it, which won't go well if something goes horribly wrong and it gets, like, bigger.
