I'unno, I had a random urge to draw Kitsune^2 at 4am, haha. Usually, I'd say Kitsune is the character that's the LEAST like the actual Renard, but seeing him get all fanboy-y over his budding NeoGeo collection makes it easy to see him as such xD Not that... the character is supposed to be anything like him... just making an observation... BAH I SHOULD BE IN BED.
This picture is pretty "ehhh" but my gallery lacks rodents and I've never really drawn an 'actual' picture of K2... SO. UNTIL I DO SOMETHING BETTER, ENJOY THIS.
And yes the shirt is terrible but that's what renardv gets for waking me up with that godforsaken album so many times.

Yeah, I'm all for stylizing critters but it's a major pet peeve of mine when they don't look like the actual animal they're supposed to be. Well... usually. THERE ARE EXCEPTIONS. But with things like rodents, skunks, opossums, bats, raccoons hyenas, etc, people seem to draw them more canine looking or feline looking when they're...neither xD
Yeah. In some people's styles (like mine, where the face is more human and I don't really put in a muzzle), it can be difficult because the muzzle isn't there as a clue, but...you'd think people could at least get the ears pretty close. =C
And yeah, I've found that's especially true for bats. XD I don't ever remember seeing a bat anthro that looked like a bat (barring flying foxes -- since they look like foxes, people are able to draw them right).

Yeah that's why I had to include that there ARE exceptions xD It's just with a lot of furry art in general, EVERYTHING IS A DOG OR CAT. OR GENERIC REPTILIAN BEAST. WITH SHOE-BOX-SHAPED HEAD. Sometimes it works to make a character more iconic or what have you (like Taz from Loony Toons or Mickey Mouse, etc), other times it's like "Man, did you even bother to look at a reference?"
I've seen some really awesome and well-stylized bats, but it's rare. I have some bat characters I should draw because I crave exaggerated, leafy noses and big, webby ears ;w;
