Great Scots, I ... I think this is a new personal record for uploads in one day. o_O
OKAY! So ... this is a character I'm REALLY proud of and REALLY enjoyed both drawing and creating. Meet Dr, Mordecai Du Val, a plague doctor in a fictional Steampunk/Victorian universe who uses his profession to be an "angel of mercy". Rather than watching incurable patients suffer a long slow demise and drugging them endlessly on painkillers, Mordecai offers them the choice of release from their failing bodies and the gift of mercy at the tip of a poisoned syringe. He never administers against they're will. He merely offers an end to their suffering should they desire it. Mordie gets a mixed reputation as a result. Some hail him as a hero, while others brand him a murderer. His friend Ophie, however, is on neither side, and just sees Mordie as an older gentleman who just wants to do what he feels in his heart is right--something the crux greatly respects and admires.
He doesn't look it, but Mordecai can hold his own in a fight with surprising skill, using both his ivory cane and poisoned syringe together to parry and overwhelm his foes. He distills his own poison from a distinct mixture of different toxins from different sources--venomous creatures, fungi and herbs.
Okay, I'll stop boring you will character details. XD I've always been fascinated by the plague doctors of Medieval history, especially their outfits.

I thought it'd be interesting if instead of a mask, the character was actually a bird, and what better choice than an avian that IS largely immune to a wide spectrum of diseases and is commonly associated with the dead (or soon-to-be-dead)? ^_~ I made his attire more Victorian (and ragged-looking) than Medieval, as the universe he's from is more along those lines. Oh and a small confession--I took a lil' inspiration from The Doctor character in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. >_>
Very pleased with his design. Hope you guys like him, too! =3
