Equine Speedpaint - Commodore Marie
I recently had a couple of slots open for equine-only hourly speed paints, as I'm trying to both practice horses and play with techniques. This one is for
commodoremarie of her Percheron character.
Critique welcome, as I'm not as well practiced with horses and I'm attempting some different coloring techniques. For this one I did a grisaille method (gray underpainting) and then did a gradient overlay as well as some texture brushes for the dappling. I am determined to learn this grisaille method, dammit, other artists like
snowcat make it look so easy!

Ooh man, good luck with learning the new method. :3 One thing about horses I love is their hooves and all the different patterns and colourations the horses can have on their bodies. I love the lighting/shading here, mostly the glowy look of it. Looks really great, seriously! 8D
Actually this is very very helpful, thank you! I do see it. I think what happened was I revised my sketch so much that I accidentally covered over part of the chest in my coloring and didn't look back, because I know I redid that chest like, a million times D: So yes, thank you, this is helpful.
