How long did this take you?

The definition in the abdomen, quadriceps, the detail in the feet and on the bridge of the nose/skull is all fantastic, as well. This is definitely something worth using as a sample when advertising your work. Portfolio quality stuff, right here.

I don't know! I never count the time when working on art (thought I probably should do that to estimate my workflow/how long I need to complete a picture), but this one was certainly one of the pieces which took longer than average (whatever average might be)

This is just incredible. I am absolutely envious of your skills with foreshortening. The leg on the viewer's right is particularly amazing. As usual, I just love your style of coloring... and you were able to render the runes beautifully. I love the gold jewelery too, it looks very realistic. This is truly a gorgeous piece, I love it.

I did a lot of life studies which gave me a decent idea on how foreshortening works - but there is a still a whole lot left for me to learn :)

They're some made up sanskrit letters - according to the commissioner, they wrap around her entire body and tell her life story. She was born with them and is unable to read them herself.

Kind of a fascinating idea there! o.o

Hahaha, yes, all drawn out by hand!
It took a while, but once you get into the flow working on detail isn't so bad, it just takes time!

According to the commissioner, these runes tell the life story of the character. She was born with them, but is unable to read them herself (guessing it's written in a language she might not understand)
