I got a good laugh out of this one. I`d definitely take that as an explanation.

While the idea is great, I dont think it would work. That would be violating the laws of physics and creating energy out of nothing. Not even the power of love can do that. There's no way their own love would be enough to sustain them, although since love in a basic emotion we all have, it couldn't hurt to direct it at other changelings.

Then again, Chrysalis said that she couldn't love the groom because there was no room in her heart for it. Therefore, it is possible changelings can't feel love at all (which might make sense, considering it's pure energy for them). Then again, it could be just because she's evil. MLP may have love, friendship, hate, and chaos all as part of an elaborate system of physics, but that system has rules to it!

I really kinda want to smack you just a bit. While I'm normally the one to preach realism, you're taking it a bit far when it's already been shown that unicorns can create matter out of energy, even fairly standard-magic-level unicorns such as Rarity. For a race of... stunted, mutated alicorn dopplegangers, who feed off of the bioethric energy of other ponies, their power source is effectively only limited by their capacity. Remember, they're OUR laws of physics, not necessarily theirs especially when there's other variables to consider that might change the entire system as we know it around.

That said, good comic!

Another thing about physics in Equestia: I have no idea how chariots pulled by pegasi remain level. o_o

I imagine the same way that pegasi can fly sideways, backwards, and upside down. Their wings are far too rubbery and pliable, and much too small to allow for flight in the first place. Dash would need Celestia's wingspan to stay airborne. I'm going to say that's a Pegasus' internal magic. Cloud manipuilation and flight, based through the wings.

What if pegasi have hollow bones?

Thinking about it, artists are a little like changelings, living off comments and love they get for their pictures (since the money they get for them wouldn't suffice for feeding them anyway, at least most of them, it's probably best that way )

Furries and bronies do seem to have a fair bit of overlap! Makes sense, I suppose: MLP does have various sorts of talking animals. But yes, I too have been surprised just how many of their links lead back here. Surprised and proud. :)

And it seemed like Fluttershy would be the one to ask it. X) She's adorable like that.

Actually my theory is that the main reason is that it only works if the love is "one way"
Just like how unrequited love can drain us as we try so hard to be loved by a person to receive none in return if they loved back they would also give energy back.

Now as far as surviving is concerned they probably could be loved and love back and be sustained but won't be the sort of "RAW POWER IS RUNNING THOUGH MY VEINS!" thing.

So could work if they weren't greedy but these are a power hungry queen and those that wish to follow her example so er yeah.... doubt they will be willing to play nice.


Also do you suppose the queen had tried to feed off of fluttershy before and maybe being so sweet she got cavities in places she never knew you could get them? ( hooves, legs ect )
