The light/shade work and the dark shirt may also contribute to making the waist look thinner and the hips wider... Still need a bit of practice in that area.

I love the character, the look in her face, and her proportions very very much here. Beautiful. Love how you rendered her outfit from the reference picture. So I see she's a mechanic and I like what you did with that.
The colors though! The sensuous dim grayish purple everywhere along with the bright purple tidbits in her hair and ears is extremely mesmerizing.
