Alright, first off, this is the first entirely, start-to-finish acrylic painting I've done since. . . twelfth grade. So if the shading and proportions are off, you'll have to forgive me on this one. It was a learning experience. I'm inexperienced with traditional media as it is, and my usual is watercolor. So, this was a challenge.
Partially because I love Roman mythos, and partially because I love doing images in series, this is gonna be the first of a group of anthro 'Gods' I'll be working on over the next several years. Like my D&D dragons, they'll all be done in traditional media. I wanted to start with Diana because she's my personal favorite, and because I realized the other day I have almost NO females in my AC Art Show panels. *scratches back of neck* So. . . yeah.
I wanted a hunting cat for Diana, and I briefly entertained the idea of a Serval, but I found this beautiful picture of an ocelot with cloudy spots, and I was in love. She's probably my first ocelot, and definitely my first female ocelot.
This piece was a warmup to a much larger piece I'm doing over the next few days, but it was still quite the adventure, and I really enjoyed working on it. She's actually quite tiny, at 5 x 7, so. . . yeah. REALLY tiny brush-strokes.
On the plus side, her size makes her very travel-friendly, and she's in a REALLY nifty old frame. So, come bid on her at AC if you'd like this lovely lady on your wall. She'll be on my General panels.

I hope the next is Ares… I mean Mars or his half-sister Minerva. But don’t be stingy with the blood by Mars the god of bloodbath. The romans have not that hostilely image of Mars like the Greeks were even his father hates him.
But original roman mythos is only Aeneas, Romulus and Remus and the first 7 Kings of Rome (incl. Lucretia).
Or somebody know some more?

It's really good for not having used acrylic for a long time. I can see the fur detailing like you normally have in your digital work. I'd say it's great. I look forward to seeing more of the traditional media pieces.
P.S. Nice choice of using an ocelot to represent Diana. =) Maybe it's a sign you should have more female characters? =3

Yeah ocelot! Ahem...this is a gorgeos piece, and I am quite interested in seeing this series progress.
It's kinda funny, when I saw this in my messages, I at first didn't realize it was your work. It's been a while since I've seen you do traditional media (that I can remember anyway), and, well, it's also not in theme with your recent subject matters. But don't get me wrong, I like it! And I look forward to more! Just...don't make Zues a lion, that'd just be too cliche...

Curiosity strikes, with two questions:
1: Is this little series only gonna be for Greek/Roman mythos?
and
2: If not, what species do you reckon you'll pick for Thor? Jus' wonderin'. :)
Also, this piece is fantastic, I don't even know what you mean by shading and proportions.

I'm currently in the middle of reading Metamorphosis by Ovid (up to book XI now), and she seems like kind of a jerk (as Roman gods tend to be). It's like, one accidental glimpse of her, a Poof! you're a deer, about to get mangled by hunting dogs. One pick of a lotus, and Poof! you turn into a tree (Like Fluttershy). Forget to bring some incense to her altar? She releases a huge boar that spits lightning and breaths death on crops (like Mr. Burns)! It's like she gives a disproportiate punishment to people for the slightest offense (Kind of like God in the Elisha incident http://youtu.be/C2jmT35fygc). Diana is the poster girl for why courts exist.
Anyway, Diana herself might be a jerk, but your picture of Diana kitty is excellent!
