Now that it's up on the ComicCon International Website, I can make the announcement! I'm one of the five nominees for the 2012 Russ Manning Most Promising Newcomer Award, for Nordguard: Across Thin Ice!

It's really exciting, I can't even. Wow. I get a grin ear to ear whenever I think about it! 25 top comic creators, film producers and other industry folk judge the awards, and will see and read our book. Just that alone is awesome. Being nominated and recognized for the story telling and layout of the book is a real honor to me.
The awards are given at the Eisner Awards ceremony in July at ComicCon International in San Diego... so, wish me luck!
With that bit of awesome news, it's back to the comic-mines, and more work on Nordguard book two, Under Dark Skies!

Congrats you two! That is simply phenomenal and well earned. The amount of hard work you two have done during the course of the last few years is almost unfathomable so to see such a huge recognition is exciting beyond words! It is also fantastic to see a work featuring talking animal people in the limelight! I hope you guys are on cloud nine and floating ever higher and yonder!
Probable dialogue in next panel:
"When you say in the south, how far south do you actually mean?"
"Anywhere warm enough to have a nerd convention. They can't seem to get enough of this. You do realize our stories actually being read by a bunch of hairless apes known as humans who live in places like 'California', don't you?"

Now that is an incredible honor! I don't think you'll bump into anyone here who disagrees with the nomination, though. Your work is brisk, engaging, and beautiful to behold. It's very strange for artists and creators in the furry community to rise to the mainstream while keeping their identity in both. I hope you can break the rules!
I suddenly had this vision of you two being guest artists for an issue of Elephantmen. You would be amazing. And I would love the comic that much more. ^_^
