Here's one of the pieces that's kept me quite busy over the last few weeks! :]
This is the cover for Kyell Gold's newest novel, Divisions--the third in the Out of Position series of books, following the journey of Lee the fox, and Dev the tiger. Here's Kyell's official announcement about the title!
You can find out more about the books over on Kyell's website, over here!
I also did ten interior illustrations, plus chapter heads for the book.
Divisions will be available through Sofawolf Press, making it's debut at FurtherConfusion in January!

I feel like most people don't actually like sports but rather the sense of community which comes with sports. But I also don't like the drama, the high salary figures, the obsession people have with players and teams and "It's me against you". I don't like the chaos that can ensue after players WIN, people going out and thrashing the city. I think a lot of athletes aren't quite in it for the sport itself, even if it probably started from a good intention. I also hate how people tend to root for local teams when they win and forget about the sport in general when they don't have a strong team. So I guess I'm saying I don't like the people, when it comes to sports.
I do follow fighting games like Street Fighter, I enjoy good matches but I don't get all obsessive about it and I take it all in good fun rather. It's mostly background noise while I'm doing other stuff.

I aeee =P let me start off by saying I honestly respect your poisition on why you dislike sports. It's not a generic, oh I just don't like em for no reason thing xD. I can definatly agree with the disgust of how fans react to certain situations. Especially people that like a team because they live there. I lived in )! My whole life and I'm a laker hater because of their fans. I can't stand any LA team really since its the one city, win or lose in the nba finals, they go riot in the streets for no reason. The point I will disagree withh you on is fanhood. I love the feeling watching a team I support winning. Its I guess what makes the games great and fun to watch. Indeed overpaid saleries and seeing people bitch, whine and moan because they wanted an extra 10 mil on the contact is annoying and stupid but it is what it is xP. I appreciate your point of view though =3
For the record I'm definatly a fan of the fgc and high level play in fighting games, its something I do and participate in so I'm biased with that xD

Thank you and incidentally, I would definitely play devil's advocate to someone who had the same opinion as me, but didn't actually have a reason to back it up. I do understand to some degree the enjoyment of watching a "faned" team winning, I guess it's more the reasons why people are fans that I have a tough time I guess. Since you're a FG fan, for exemple, I would have less trouble for someone being a fan of Justin Wong because he (used to) use an unpopular character, than because he wins a lot. I guess both are arbitrary. It's easier to judge than to analyse in full I suppose.
Emotions. What a complicated mess we are :P

For the record I don't like justin that much xD but that's just me =3 it all depends on style of play and personalities is how I choose people I support lulz. That's why for the most part I'm only a die hard fan of one team, the only other sports I follow with much intent are boxing/mma, one man fighting to be the best, no one else there to blame but yourself if you lose. Every other sport is meh but is watchable at times but not consistantly.
if a team looses and they didn't start a riot over it...it'll be fine...and i dont see why some get paid $20 million in just a few months for kicking a ball into a net, there are others that spend 10 years or so training for something that has a point and will never make a million in there life
It's not simple volunteering. There's a lot of marketing about the pride of being in the military and all that. During the Afghan war, the media wouldn't show or talk much about the deaths happening. There are a lot of lies about what being in the military actually means.
Additionally, some people have to get in it because they don't really have any other opportunities. That's why my dad got in the army, albeit Canadian army. He ultimately did pretty well for himself all things considered, but not everyone has the same luck he did.

I'm not good at sports, but I don't think that watching sports is the same as playing them. I enjoy watching action flicks even though I wouldn't want to be put into those positions and like I said, I like fighting game tournaments but in no way could come even close to competing.
Incidently, I'd say my self-confidence is pretty high. I have a lack of motivation for physical activity but am quite fond of mental activity. I don't get into the slump other people do , "I just want something simple". Doesn't define me. Reason why I hate Apple and all they represent really.

And for the record, how low confident are people when they feel they must match their opinions to those around them to feel accepted? Oh, I love team X because those around me love team X. Or sport X. It might be social, but it displays such a lack of substance and personality.
You know what they say about correlation and causation.
Maybe not liking sports makes people unable to find common ground with their peers, which leads to them not being able to train their social skills, which in turn makes them anti-social/have low self-esteem, making them even less likely to go out there and try to meet others and connect with them.
You know, maybe.

This is really beyond awesomeness!
Maybe I'm wrong, but...concerning the title, it looks like Dev and Lee won't be seen on the front ->together<- this time. Because Dev's on the screen on the right (front cover) and Lee will be on the back cover.
Is that on purpose or am I thinking just too much into it?
Also: Left of Lee, that must be the Fox reporter from Isolation Play. And I need to admit that I forgot his name...and can't find my copy to look it up.

I am also the not very common fur who really likes football and I agree! Seeing a mix of some of my favorite things was quite a pleasure to see and to top it off every aspect one would see in a American football stadium is in this art piece and it is simply awesome! Fantastic work. ^v^
After seeing this (let alone all the previous pieces), I'm shocked that the artist behind Blotch isn't as famous as they deserve to be
Seriously. I'm blown away by this (and all the other pieces, too, but this one's just... Wow. And this is coming from someone who DESPISES sports)

Stunningly well performed at such extent that I'm at loss for words. Describing your work is no easy feat. Which should not render your brilliance lesser be. Thanks for improving and letting us admire in awe. Your reputation and admiration from many of us will hardly ever fade.
Wow... so many comments till i finally arrived to the bottom of the page!! O_o
Well, what can i say that hasn't been said yet XD. I really like it and i can imagine the big effort you put in this picture. Congratulations, you gave birth to another amazing piece of art =3

An absolutely incredible piece, Blotch! Outstanding work, that must've taken FOREVER to complete! But well worth the time and effort. :)
By the way, for those asking about the play on the field vs. the Jumbotron: Yes, that's a replay they're showing of what was probably a near-interception that just happened. If you'll notice, the numbers on the red jerseys of the Firebirds players on the field indicate that their team is currently on defense, while the Pilots in white sport the numbers of offensive players, as does the Pilots player on the Jumbotron.
According to the scoreboard, with 8:22 left in the first quarter, it's a scoreless tie. The Pilots have the ball, fourth down and four yards to go. The ball looks to be spotted close to the Pilots' goal line, out of view behind the seats on the left. None of the "zebras" (referees) are in view, so they may be conferencing at the spot of the ball briefly. The Pilots will certainly punt away, giving the Firebirds good field position for their next drive.
