Duamutef is a harder to recognize without his spear in a sketch where his color is not apparent, but the tail is an easy way to identify the character.
I am working on a winged golden jackal as my 'sona. I will need to make sure he has a different tail to help avoid him being mistaken for Duamutef in black and white sketches.

I hope it is ok if I use this sketch as a reference for the body structure and overall look I'm trying to achieve for my winged golden jackal 'sona.
I'm going for a design that is less Anubian and a bit more avian/gryphon (more golden jackal / golden eagle), partially to help avoid being too much like Duamutef. I have figured out a different tail design that should help prevent confusion between the characters even when their different coloration is not apparent in black and white sketches.
