Are you a big dumb Brute?
Because I need two of them. My boy
Notos has had great success scouting some voice talent for his animated short here (It's really great, you should check it out on his page) and so I thought I'd try the same. I'm looking for some appropriate voices for these two characters for a game I'm doing.
Deek is very religious man, bound by honor and tradition, but he broke the rules of his order, and was expelled. His entire life now revolves around trying to find a way to get reinstated, but somewhere deep down he doubts whether that may even be possible.
Gumba is a hometown hero, praised for his strength and valor by everyone in his community, and has become a celebrity of sorts. When it comes right down to it though, is he really even living his own life? Nobody has ever considered what he wants, and that casts doubts on everything he does.
Neither of these boys is truly stupid. Gumba in particular is a bit simple, but consider it more a lack of education than a lack of intelligence. Deek is well-learned and well-spoken.
Here's the reference visually http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3088703/
If you'd like to take a shot at it, send me a short sample (Just a few sentences) introducing yourself as the character in question. Although I don't have much in the way of budget for this project (Something which may change eventually) I can offer the old standby - cameos in the game!
And for those of you who think I might not be serious, I've also posted a screenshot of the game engine I've built, right here - http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3088736/
EDIT -
If you really can't think of anything to say, then use these lines.
DEEK - Leave? I'm not breaking any laws. I'm waiting here for a messenger from Saskatsa to arrive and I'm not leaving until he does. If you want to get rid of me so bad, go find out what's taking him so long.
GUMBA - They all say I am a hero, and then they say "A hero would slay the Tyrant". The little ones, they look up at me and their eyes are so big.. how can I tell them I do not want to?

FA+

my vocal range is probably too high
i LARP orc
i frighten children
i eat elves
good times
I'd be willing to give you a shot.
Deek seems like the type who would speak like a knight who seeks redemption (speaking politely, but with an underlying authority in his voice, though there'd be a shadow of shame in his tone), while Gumba seems to be the type who'd be a good ol' country boy (all in all a friendly fellow, perhaps a boisterous bruiser type?).
Unfortunately, my microphone is lost.. Probably thanks to my nieces who have the habit of throwing to the garbage anything not important to them, I fuckin' hate teenage girls...
but i'll give it a shot....

And then I had a go at Gumba and it didn't go terribly well so I tried an angrier Deek

Though from what i remember from your meme, you had a decent voice which could suit the roles?
I'm Australian so....

Here's two for Deek - your lines are in the second one:

The latter is a bit rushed. I plan on popping a Gumba sample on later.
Good luck finding your voice actors! :)

O well, I guess I'll skip for this
Well I'm taking a swing anyway.
I'm not just doing this to cement the role of Deek
I want to prove to be of some use for other characters in this tale
your will be telling
but i think i could do it. just scared to... lol
I want to try... poke me later if i don't reply within a few days.

Don't think i can do Gumba, though. My voice isn't as gruff as i think his voice should be.
Naturally my mind goes straight to him, heh...he's a cute character though I'm sure someone will bring him to life properly.
I really have to keep up on these tings though this journal is so old, ugh.

Is it too late to record a Deek sample?
I'd thought I come on out and give a shot at it if I'm not too late. Here are the voice samples if you still want to hear:
(Please adjust your volume accordingly; not sure if they'll be too loud or too soft)
