Detailed Commission Information, Terms, & Guidelines

Payment:
I will not begin working on a piece until I have received full payment up front. However, if you are honestly uncomfortable with this method, we may be able to work out other payment terms (half up front, or payment upon proof of completion, etc.). Please contact me if you have an issue with this and we can try and resolve that.
When you send payment, please notify me that you have done so, and I will get back to you in order to confirm it has been sent to the correct address, or that the correct amount has been sent.
Paypal is the method of payment I most prefer, so I do ask that you use it to send payment if it is possible for you to do so. However, I will also accept checks or cash in certain cases if this is your only means of paying; contact me for details about when and where to send the money.
When sending money through Paypal please be sure to send money as a Gift, or cover any fees.
All payments should be sent to the following email address: midnightcreaturefeature@gmail.com
References and Descriptions:
At least one reference image per character involved in an image is preferable. Please try to send me direct links to reference images, rather than sending me galleries to sort through. If possible, three images per character is usually best.
Short descriptions are also useful to have, though please refrain from sending me a wall of text, as it is also difficult to sort through. However it's perfectly alright if you want to be very specific about details.
Reference images or descriptions for particular poses, expressions, moods, color themes, clothing, props, etc. that you would like to see are incredibly useful.
In certain cases, character background may also be useful, especially things like personality. Just keep it short.
Contact/Requests:
I would appreciate it, if possible, that you send me your request and all of the information pertaining to the commission in both a Note/PM on this site, as well as in an email. Having information in an email is useful in case FA goes down for an extended period.
If email is somehow not an option, at least please send me your information in a note. It is much easier to keep all the information in one place.
If another means of communication, like an instant messenger, is easier in order to work out specific details or to keep a dialogue going, let me know. However, please make sure you still send your information to me in a PM/Email.
Please send all emails to the following address: midnightcreaturefeature@gmail.com
Content:
There are certain things that I am not willing to draw, and certain things that I may ask for extra compensation for. Additionally, there are certain subjects I am only willing to work with if it's a collaboration (like a coloring job).
There are a number of reasons for me refusing to draw specific subjects, from level of comfort, to my ability to execute something skillfully. Please do not take offense by my refusal to draw certain content; I do not judge anyone for their preferences, kinks, fetishes, what have you.
Please see this journal (http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1085707/) for a list of subjects I am not currently willing to draw, or that have certain conditions. I try to cover as many topics as possible.
If what you plan to ask for is not listed, but you're still unsure about your request, please just ask me, I have no problem discussing things.
Progress/Edits/Changes/Revisions:
If you would like to see a sketch before the work is completed, or would like to see progress shots, please let me know specifically. If you don't request sketches/progress, I may not show them to you at all. However, I will often run a sketch by a commissioner if I am unsure if it is working to the specifications. It's easier to make changes in early stages.
After something is completed, if there are certain things you would like me to change or fix, please let me know and I will attempt to do so to the best of my ability. Please don't come to me with huge list of edits, unless you plan to compensate in some way.
I will NOT redo an entire piece without compensation, unless it is simply a sketch.
Privacy and Posting Artwork:
If you wish that your identity and commission remain anonymous, please tell me beforehand so I don't list you on queues or post images along with your username. I have no problem keeping things private, but you MUST let me know. If you fail to inform me, I will assume it is okay to make everything public.
Again, unless you have specifically asked me to refrain from posting your information or your commission, it will be posted. So: if you don't want me posting your completed image on this site, let me know beforehand.
Once you've received what you payed for, feel free to post where you like, it's yours. However, if you are posting it to your gallery, or anywhere else on the internet, I request that you PLEASE credit and if possible, link back to this gallery.
Time Frame:
The time it takes for me to complete a commission will vary case to case, and also be influenced by other priorities I may have at any given time. Sometimes I can complete a commission the day it is requested, but please don't expect your artwork immediately, as it usually takes me much longer.
It may take me up to a couple of months to finish your request depending on a number of factors. Sometimes I work incredibly slowly, or have other things going on in my life that take priority.
If you need your commission by a specific date for any reason at all, please let me know this in advance, and I will make it a priority. I will have it done by the date specified, unless there are unforeseen circumstances that prevent me from having it completed. If I find out far enough in advance that I will not be able to meet the deadline, I will let you know to the best of my ability.
Refusal:
I have the right to refuse any commission request, and cancel payments/send back any money sent if I refuse. However, I will always try and give clear reason as to why.
