Romance (plural romances)

1. An intimate relationship between two people; a love affair.
2. A strong obsession or attachment for something or someone.
3. Love which is pure or beautiful.
4. A mysterious, exciting, or fascinating quality.
5. A story or novel dealing with idealised love.

Throughout history, we have seen the idea of romance arrive in all sorts of shapes, sizes, forms, and appearances. To some, 'What light by yonder window breaks' is the romantic ideal, a young lover declaring his (or her!) affection towards another. To others, a dinner of shared spaghetti, accidentally ending in a kiss, the mutual realization of shared affection. Or maybe just being held by the person you love as the two of you share a quiet moment that belongs to just the two of you.

Or perhaps something even more exotic. Or perhaps something even more staid.

The theme of this contest is Romance. In your submissions, let us see a romantic scene as you see it, through your medium. In this month of February, what better theme could fit a contest such as this than that of Romance?

Now let me stop attempting to be pretentious with verbal imagry, and on to the rules.

Contest starts 12:00AM February 1st, 2010.
Deadline for this contest is 11:59PM, Pacific Standard Time, on February 28th, 2010.

Terms and Conditions of Contest (May be altered until start of contest):

1. No porn, lusty innuendo. Partial nudity may be acceptable, but artwork must be clean.

2. All submissions must have 'furry' subject matter. Humans and furries mixed in are acceptable.

3. All submissions must fit in the theme of 'Romance'.

4. All submissions must be new art made for this contest.

5. Submitting artwork to the contest grants permission to upload to a central location for the purposes of the art contest. Copyright is still held by the artist.

6. Judging will be performed by myself,  kanekisaragi, and  rodso64

Pieces will be judged on composition, subject matter, how well it fits the theme of the contest, and the subjective 'how good'. Only one entry per artist.

Winner(s) will be announced no more than one week after the deadline, after all the judges have had enough time to view all entries, discuss, sleep on decisions, then discuss a final time. Winner(s) will be asked to provide enough shipping information to recieve prizes.

First Place Prize wins a http://www.amazon.com/Bamboo-Small-.....amp;amp;sr=1-4 , which has been ordered and is currently sitting on a shelf in Summercat's room.

Second Place wins a commission donated by  rottingroot

Additional prizes may be added if there are enough artists looking to enter to warrant them.
