Thoughts on fursuits

So guys i have a question what do fursuits mean to you and what kind of impact do they have in your lives and in peoples lives? What type of fursuit would you go for and what meaning would it have to you?
FA+

although i don't have my own suit yet, i've suited before, what fun it was. i'm normally a stuffy guy that never got out much, well somehow got convinced to attend a con. one thing lead to another on my first day there and somehow, i found my self in someones suit. my life per say was changed there on. i had never had as much fun in one day than i had in my entire life. it made me smile about something for the first time and wanted to interact with people more, it also opened my mind and since had made me a better person and something to look forward to as not much goes on with my life right now, best time ever spent.
i'd do anything to do it again.
Suiting in general to me is a fun thing to do to pass the time. It's quite an enjoyable way to express oneself, in public it gives people well, something they don't see everyday, that's the rush in it for me, when you get that guy who's like that's friggin awesome, but not something you see everyday. Add in getting into your character's personality, both mine are well, goofball fun dudes, and it adds more into the fun of things.
What type of suit do I go for.. Well I have mine based off of my favorite canines, and each one I feel represents me in its own different way. I have a Wolf and a German Shepherd suit, wolf being Zel and my first one, and in the old town of Henniker he has a good reputation at two bars down there xD I go for the more friendly and sociable type of suits.. to me they get more positive feedback, as I'm sure you know, some people are actually intimidated by suiters and don't like em.. it's rare for me but it happens to get that one person who's scared.
My next work with the help of my girlfriend and her creativity will be a husky of some sort.. cause of the cuteness and personality bit again.
Impact in my life, well it's fun as hell to do, I've met a lot of neat and cool people being in the fandom and doing what suiters do, perform and hang out, ultimately my goals to have fun and bring fun to others.
I see fursuiting as an art form, a means of expressing yourself to the core. I don't see why people would spend so much money or hard work on a suit just to walk around in it. If you're gonna go through all that trouble, you might as well take things to the next level. In a way you're providing a service to people by making them happy and that's a good feeling to have. Back in the day I didn't pay too much attention to it, but I've seen the effects it has on my close friends, its reveals their true character. I knew that I'd want to get one eventually but I didn't want to get it for the wrong reasons, just to look cool or what not. This is a commitment to your character, which means you have to be ready to represent. What I want people to think when they see me in suit is that he's living his dream and he ain't afraid to be who he is.
I feel that my (soon to be) fursuit is a way to show my inner self. I find that as humans we have this sense of closer, to keep with the society's norm. Under a fursuit, I find it as not hiding myself but rather opening up and freely showing who I really am. It's a open way of expression, while at the same time exploring and showing my spiritual self to the world.
Near-parallel to the spiritual sense of fursuiting, it's also very fun to suit around. Not that I have done it, but it seems enjoyable to hit the dance floor or just roam the broadwalk and just party randomly. Something I know i wouldn't do as a human... maybe in sense of embarrassment. But as a real-life fur, it removes that wall of closer, and allows a new kind of fun that can/should be shared with others ^^
But fursuiting... for me, it's absolutely an artform - probably one of the most intensive forms of performance art, in that you are making it up as you go, yet still being in character. You don't have much to work with either unless you make props and things in advance to going out. And when I get one made of my fursona, it will be an extreme expression of self that you can't get out normally. Basically, I agree with everyone who's commented to varying degrees.
But a BIG one for me that no one has mentioned is that it's also an escape. You get to escape being yourself for a bit... take a step out of your life and make another, take a break from whatever might be negative in your life and spend some time as someone else who (hopefully) has nothing bad going on in their lives. (if your suit('s character) has a bad life despite only coming to life every so often, you'd have to convince me how, lol).
For me, I would want to become my character and see things through his eyes, as well make people happy. I mean, people dress up as Mickey Mouse every day in Disney World to entertain people, we could do the same with fursuits.
...Now I really want one.
I do plan to get my own suit one day and when that day does happen, I know it will alter me in a positive way. That's how I feel on the subject.
