Honestly, just cuz you aren`t going to use it yourself, that doesn`t mean it`s worthless. And those guys worked hard to make it happen too, and programming is an art form as well, so you basically just called his art worthless. If that`s true, then so is yours and mine and all art in the world. So before you go putting someone`s work down just like that, why don`t you think about the effort they put in and the consideration they had to make this site better for people like you and me, and think about if they did it to you?

Because that can be a picture from your gallery. Something (around here) most people drew or took a picture of. It's probably the work their most proud of, but it doesn't necessarily reflect them or their character.

Giving a people a chance to show themselves... that's the point.

uh huh... well ATM i dont have a use for it but maybe i will sometime! (and you can display things from scraps in the original display box too, just gotta know the name of the submission)

The notes system would require a total re-write for that to happen. It's not exactly an easy thing to do overnight.

And the different icons we could do, but that's sort of a back-burner item at the moment.

Ehhhhh.... Maybe it's the OCD in me, but it just makes everything look so unbalanced. The idea isn't bad, but the right side of the page is already cluttered up enough between long journals and shouts :P

I saw one guy with a novel solution to that. For long stuff, he'd just make an image with all the text he wanted to convey and post it. Kept the journals short to balance the page.

That's great. We've been needing this. =) But I don't understand why they have to be scraps. Many IDs are worthy pieces of artwork.

Okay I'm having trouble understanding the point of this.

This seems to be a glorified version of the featured submission. So now we have two featured submissions, just one has the stipulation that it must come from scraps?

I can only assume that the reason this sort of thing would even be considered in the first place is that people were nagging you for it. Which, I guess kudos to you for delivering people what they want, but I really have to sit here and question their logic for it in the first place.

But this leaves open a possibility too. If you're going to add a different version of a featured submission to the user page, why not finally fix the "commission information" tab on everyone's userpage? Just rewrite it so it is like a journal entry, just a text box where people can write in what they want to say in regards to their status about accepting or progress in commissions.

Personally I'd love to have an alternative to people having their commission information as the footer in every single journal they post weekly.

Bad idea: Don't allow it to stretch small images please, messes with the pixels and aspect ratio.

An addendum to this comment, perhaps for those who wish to use 100x100 icons, make it so it doesn't automatically stretch the thing totally out of proportion? Look at my current profile ID and you'll see what I mean. >.>

its a nice feature (ill have to make something for it) but on the description on it in the control panel it says

"Selects the profile picture which will be shown on your userpage above the featured submission.
You can use it to feature an additional submission this way, if you like. Lists only scraps."

but i see it shown under the Journal

DA added a new feature where you can sort art by artists, so that way inbox-spamming upload sprees dont' clutter anything up.

I'd say FA still has a long way to go before it reaches the same level of sophisticated features as DA has....but to be fair, DA had a 4-year head start.
