Tsumekomi-chan is an office worker in a toy company and supervises the part-time working student Yutori-chan. She tries to get along with Yutori-chan but her selfish behavior typical of the Yutori generation is incomprehensible.

Info: Based on a popular web-released manga series by Hidekazu Himaruya, this has been described as a "cynical gag" story set in Europe in the years between WW1 and WW2 (1915-1939), using exaggerated caricatures of the different nationalities as portrayed by a gaggle of bishōnen. For example, the Italia Veneziano character is into pasta and women. The Deutsche (German) bishi loves potatoes and sausages, and Nippon is an otaku boy. Installments of the manga have jumped back and forth in setting from the ancient times to modern-day geopolitics. The manga's title comes the Japanese words for "useless" (hetare) and Italy (Italia).

Info: The story is set during the turbulent years of the shogunate, as dark forces try to undermine the shogun's power in Edo-era Tokyo. Info: Hana Kappa, a television anime adaptation of Tadashi Akiyama's children's manga Hana Kappa-kun, will begin airing on the NHK-Educational public television channel on March 29. The manga follows Hana Kappa, a kappa (mystical Japanese river creature) who happens to have a flower (hana) growing out of his head. Hana Kappa-kun lives with his father, mother, grandfather, and grandmother in a verdant village known as Yamabiko.

Akiyama serializes the manga in Mainichi Shōgakusei Shimbun, a daily newspaper for elementary school children from The Mainichi Newspapers company. An anime episode will premiere every weekday on 7:15 a.m., and then repeat at 5:30 p.m. Hana Kappa is also the main lead of two picture books. Another picture book series of Akiyama's, Mameushi-kun, was previously animated into a television series in 2007.

Info: The official website of Toei Animation's Marie & Gali project has announced on Friday that a new television anime, Marie & Gali ver. 2.0, has been green-lit. The title characters Marika (a middle school girl dressed in Gothic Lolita fashion) and Galileo (a middle-aged scientist) introduce scientific concepts to junior high and high school students with gag humor, music, and dancing. Marie & Gali ver. 2.0 will introduce a new character named Norika.

The first Marie & Gali series of five-minute shorts debuted on the NHK-Educational public television channel last March. NHK-Educational will air the 40th and final episode of the first series, "Saishūkai Nan Desu Kedo," on Tuesday.

Info: The protagonist, Yukimura Chizuru is the daughter of a doctor who works in Edo. The father leaves Edo to work as a volunteer doctor and moves to Kyoto without his daughter. As time passes by, Chizuru starts worrying about losing contact with her father, so she decides to go to Kyoto in search of him. On the way, Chizuru is attacked by few criminals and witnesses a fight between an oni and the Shinsengumi. Taking her into custody and saving her, the Shinsengumi debate on what to do with Chizuru when they discover that she is the daughter of the doctor they are also looking for. So they decide to become Chizuru's protectors and help her look for her father(the doctor). Lots of events happen while she stays with the Shingensumi, as they discover mysterious secrets and also fight against the Bakumatsu group. The story is overall romantic with a historical and political background.

Kaito isn't impressed with this so called legend that reappeared after eight years, and says he could easily take the thief magic to magic. At home, thinking about his dead father who was also a magician, Kaito stumbles upon a hidden doorway in his room. He discovers his father was the original Kaitou Kid. But since he is dead, he wonders who the supposed Kaitou Kid from recent robberies is. Kaito puts on his father's hat and cape, becomes Kaitou Kid to search out the imposter.
