Shall we learn a new word?

paneity, n. The state of being bread.

The English language covers a lot more ground than most people give it credit for. There are the incredibly useful words one can't believe aren't in general use and there are words like paneity that seem to only exist just to exist. Outside of a specific doctrine of Catholicism, there's not much use for a word like paneity. Discovering such words is still fun, though.

That was Elster's opinion, too. In the same section of his book, he also mentions a related word that's just about as useless. I'll put up later this week.
