This wasn't just a miss...a miss involves not hitting the broad end of a barn. This movie is more related to not facing the barn (the barn being the Avatar cartoon series) and throwing rocks at fans of anything but really bad movies. Twilight is better than the Last Airbender, and thats a very painful thing to say, seeing as I've never even seen Twilight and loath all it encompasses.

The trailers made it seem like he threw the entire series in a 2 hour film (or whatever it ended up as). I have not yet seen it but maybe I'll find a different way than waste my money...

As for enjoying the movie while never seeing it..

I've heard reviews of it feeling VERY rushed, especially if you have never seen it / have a clue what is going on currently.
Also, jokes come up that, if you have seen the cartoon, make sense. But have no layout / build up in the movie for.

I would not bother wasting your money, if you have not seen a few episodes of the cartoon's story, character, plot, and setting development.

If you're interested in seeing some of the episodes and you have access to netflix, all three seasons are on their instant watch. Then, you will want to look up a list of what episodes are good for catching up on the series.

If anything, you might just want to check out the first episode. I dunno.

I really like the show and thought I wouldn't love it before I saw much of it. It's fun.

I think on principle you should refuse to watch a 3D movie, any 3D movie, that wasn't actually shot using 3D cameras at all but was in fact filmed in regular 2D and then computer-processed to give a false-3D effect, only you still have to pay the extra cost of a 3D ticket.

Seriously, how do you mess something up that's based on an actual cartoon? It's not that hard to get right! You HAVE the visuals, you HAVE the pronounciation, you HAVE the timeline... How did you mess it up, M Night!? HOW!?

"Aang" is now "Awng," because that's apparently how you pronounce it in chinese.
