Yup. You heard right, this weekend's Sketchfest is going to be a fantastic feast, and not just of images. You see... I'm going to hold a contest for all my watchers, and my watchers to be. And it's reeeeeeally simple to enter. All you have to do is some free advertising. That's right.. FREE. ADVERTISING = PANCAKES, WAFFLES, CUPCAKES and ICE CREAM.

Sketchfest has this FA account, a Facebook Account, a Twitter Account, and a Livestream account. If you spread the word on ANY/ALL of these sites, then you get a matching point...

Facebook = Pancakes, Twitter = Waffles, FA = Cupcakes and "Any other Source" = Ice Cream.

So, if you post a link on your FB account to the Sketchfest account, you get one Pancake. If you put up a link on Twitter you get a Waffle, etc, etc. With me?

For every watcher/attendee/etc that we get, you'll get another point. So if you invite your friends to the Facebook event and they attend, you'll get one point per attendee. If you invited them to join the Facebook Fan Page, and they +like it, you'll get one point. If you linked them to the FA account and they +watched, you'll get one point.

HOWEVER, there are other ways to advertise then spamming the above places... you can also...

Invite Friends to the Sketchbook Facebook Account/Event, Retweet any of Sketchfests Tweets over the allowed time period, Repost every journal that Sketchfest makes, or you can directly invite friends from outside sources by commenting on things like Gaia Profiles/Threads, or sending PMs, posting an advert for Sketchfest in your journal (non-FA) or forum signatures, or just making us cool art and posting that places to get sketchfest noticed. Each of these things will get you a half a food item.

At the end of the alloted time period, I'm going to add up all the Pancakes, Waffles, Cupcakes and Ice Cream, and give out FIVE free images. Yes, that's right, free arts for the ones who advertises me most... and correctly. There's no need to get yourself banned for spamming on Sketchfest's account, so I'm asking you here and now to do it responsibly.

EXAMPLE: Spokey invited 208 people to the Sketchfest event on FB, meaning he gets 104 Pancakes (maybe I should make them crepes, that's a heck of a stack)... and so far one person has checked the 'attending' box, so there's another pancake. Not hard to rack up points, is it? Spokey already has 105 points and all he did was invite his friends to the Facebook Event.



There will be four pieces of art, all Sketchfest sketches for FREE: The most FA advertising (Cupcake Prize), The most FB advertising (Pancake Prize), the most Twitter advertising (Waffle Prize), and the most Other Source advertising (Ice Cream Prize).

The FIFTH piece of art will go to the one who spreads the word MOST overall... so the one person who uses ALL their available resources to spread the word about Sketchfest will get a feast. A free piece of full commission art. That means sketched, inked, colored and signed... so to speak.



There are some T&C that I would like you to keep in mind when doing this, however...

1) You must Note this FA account with the evidence to the advertising you're doing so that I can keep track. If I can't keep track then no one's getting cookies. If you advertise in a thread then I'll need a screenshot sent to my inbox. If you put it in a forum signature, or on your profile anywhere, I need to be sent a screenshot. If you make art for me (you'll be loved and) you'll have to link me to the image so I can see it for myself.

1a) There are some exceptions to rule one: Facebook will automatically show any status updates if you include the Sketchfest account in the update, or art if you tag it in the image... that means you need to add the Sketchfest FB, and when typing your update you need to sketchfest and select it in order for me to be able to see it, or add it so you can tag it in your image. The same goes with Twitter, if you sketchfest in your tweet then I will be able to see it. These things do not need screenshots (but you're free to note me with one just in case you feel the need).

1b) That said, they will NOT notify me that you've invited 208 pancakes, I mean, people to attend the event. When sending your invite please take a screenshot BEFORE you click send, so that I can actually SEE that you have invited more pancakes, I mean, people. Otherwise I'm going to have 10,000 invitees (whether they attend or not) and I won't know who invited how many.

WHEN IN DOUBT, SCREENSHOT YOUR EVIDENCE!
You can get a free photobucket/etc account, make a new album of all your sketchfest advertising, and note me a link me to that (provided the album's public of course) and show me all your evidence at once. That would be a very nice, kind, and considerate thing for you to do, no? Then you won't have to worry about sending me multiple notes and I can check to make sure you've been following my breakfast rules.

2) You're allowed to note me multiple times, however, please be respectful about the number of messages I'll get in my inbox. I don't want a flood of notes because every time you link me you send me a new PM. Save up a half dozen, or a dozen and send them all at once... or better yet just send me one a day, I'd be happy with that. I can understand that as the Comp draws to a close, and with people unsure of timezones it's hard to know if your entry will make it in before I cut off all ties... so I expect that monday morning people will start linking me individually, and that's fine, just try not to do it all weekend.

3) If you've been directed here by someone else's journal/update/status/link, etc... please feel free to note me with the person who directed you. If you're honest and upfront about it, let me know where the link you clicked is located or who you spoke too in order to get here, and both you and the person who linked you will get a BONUS BREAKFAST. One point EACH. I'm sure over the course of the weekend I will give out more bonus breakfast items, because I'm nice like that to people who are nice to me. You'll lose bonuses for bitching, spamming, whining/whinging/complaining. (see rule 6)

4) At the end of the day it's not about WHO you invite, or how many of YOUR friends attended, it's about helping to get the word of Sketchfest out and about for me. I don't want to know that Joe Blogs attended because YOU invited him (although that IS part of the contest I suppose), but more about the fact that you put the word out there and SOMEONE attended/noted/commented/liked/watched/whatever. If someone else gets to your friend first, then find another place to advertise, another person to invite, another forum to post on... the more varied the advertising the more randoms we'll get and the more fun we'll all have.

5) Contest opens as of the posting of this journal, and will close at 9.00am Monday morning. Sketchfest itself will go through til 9pm Monday night, so that leaves me 12 hours to tally up the scores and draw some awesome free arts for the winners. Those times are in Australian Central Standard Time... which is in the GMT +9.5 (9 and a half hours) timezone. If you're unsure just keep an eye out for a new journal here saying that entries are closed. I will not accept anything submitted to me after the closing time.

6) This is my contest, and I'll run it how I deem fit to keep the peace. My word is law, and my say is final, and see rule 3 if you haven't already on why. I like nice people, I give bonus marks to nice people. I give bonus marks to people who amuse me, entertain me, or otherwise are nice people. Bitching repeatedly about who gets what point, when, where, and why... will only get you banned from the contest altogether, and I'd rather not have to do that at all. It doesn't make me feel great in any respect.

If it makes you feel any better, at the end of the day Spokey's going to be double checking all my calculations and confirming my results... and if we can't agree the we'll get Forfy to do some maths and figure out which of us is right. Though I'm not a complete goober when it comes to basic addition and subtraction. And I will also be posting the points as their gained on the next journal that will officially open the contest and the stream. The one signifying the close of the competition will be edited with the winners once it has been worked out.

Above all else I really just want this to be a bunch of fun for everyone. That's what Sketchfest is truly about... so please feel free to spread some love and joy, and join us in less then 24 hours for "a weekend of streaming, sketching, discussions, randomness, fun and sometimes stupidity, with a hint of naughty thrown in just because we can."
