A couple of notes:
I recently discovered Heroes of Mana on the DS. I was and AM a huge fan of Secret of Mana on the SNES (Seiken Deiketsu 2 yeah i fuckin know!). In all these years their hasnt been very many multiplayer action RPGs around, or none that were as fun anyway. Their have been more Mana games than i realized but MOST of them have sucked for one reason or another. (tho i wish their was an art book for some of these games cos the artwork atleast was stunning!). On one hand my major complaint with the series has been that they kept trying really bizzare approaches to game play that always feel short, either in fun factor or the story and characters suffered from lack of focus. This current game got a groan out of me at first cos its pretty much an RTS. Im not big on RTS's cos they'er more hectic than fun for me. But none the less i REALLY started digging this game, i like the main characters, and VERY mature story/dialogue, havent seen a Squeenix game with this much swearing in a long time if EVER!
Whilst searching around i also was reminded that they'd made a game called Children Of Mana which kinda looks alot like the SNES version and may have to give that a try next. Man i havent given a crap about an RPG in ages XD
2nd point of interest:
NEW SLICK SLIM SHINY BLACK XBOX 360 RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!
Game Spoot was having a sweet trade-in deal on the old 360s (those that have survived the red ring wars receive a nice hefty retirement!) for purchasing the new ones. i rarely pre-order anything but i got the drop on that thing. Built in 250 gig Hard drive, Built in Wifi, teh shinyness! After trade-in plus some old credit i had built up. i only ended up paying a fraction! Woot! My 360 was bought 11-26-06. I made it all teh way to the end with out a RROD! :D:D:D:D:D
Time to go kill some BITCHES!

If you have the charge cable attached to the system but no controller attached to the charge cable.. the system will not turn on till you unhook the cable, or hook the cable to a controller.
But yea I've done marathons on this system.. 7 games in a row with just a few hours of sleep between them and its running pro!
(Alpha Protocol, Transformers, Crackdown 2, Dead Rising 1, ODST, Death Smiles, Perfect Dark 1)
I have Children of Mana, though. Frankly, I can't vouch for it. It's an okay game; great if you love repetitive dungeon crawlers. No doubt much funner if you have a buddy to play with - you even get gems that grow in power the more you play in multiplayer. Bah. :P
Just a personal opinion not a bash of the 360 :3
I haven't been impressed with any of the 360 exclusives, personally, and everything coming out still fails to tickle my gamer fancy enough to warrant getting a 360 and paying for Xbox Live. Especially since I can get most of the good 360 games for PC as well!

Like I said, the EXCLUSIVE games that can only be played on 360 and no other system or PC don't catch my interest at all. I aint ripping on the 360, I personally have no interest in their exclusive content :3
But none the less, its not about exclusive games, atleast not for me. Its about the Xbox having the bigger library sooner and the more sphosticated multiplayer interaction. When it comes to getting ppl from your friends list/groups to play various multiplayer games, Xbox is ahead of the game compaired to the PS3 and the Wii (and i mean SPECFICIALLY the PS3 and Wii, we'll get to steam in a sec). Xbla has been around longer so its had way more time to iron itself out and make for a solid and easy experience when it comes to playing with friends on ANY game at anytime.
Yeah the PS3 has some of the same games but like with stuff like GTA and Castle Crashers you have no real way to group up before launching the game, more so i dont even know how you do chat stuff with the PS3, it doesnt come with head pwns and i cant get my blootoof head set to work right with it.
I did hear the Wii has SOME kinda multiplayer thing but they still work with that wretched, archaic, ID Number system, atleast for games like Brawl, and even then, no chat except for like Monster Hunter Tri and maybe a handful of other games.
As for Steam, yeah they get everything from all the systems EVENTUALLY but usually long after 75% of the gaming community have already played and beaten the shit out of most games, Castle Crashers and GTA once again being my prime examples. I LOVED playing online death match on GTA i spent months doing it, and even tho Steam boasted having like 32 player matches or something it was way too late and no way i was buying it twice XD
For me PC is the BEST spot to be doing FPSsses like TF2 and Battlefield. i loathe using annalogue to play FPSsses. But i have more friends with more multiplayer co-op type games on Xbox than any of the other consoles/PC.
Side note, most of the games that end up being exclusive to Xblox or PS3 are usually little rinkydink games like Explosion Man and Joe Danger, no real big loss (tho i do have both systems XD) Yeah and little Big planet but even then thats no real loss either :U
Yeah XBLA has some niftier features than PSN, but PSN is free, so you have to give it that much credit for being what it is without forcing users to pay to play their online games. I personally would never ever pay for XBLA, nor would I ever pay for the PSN, it's never worth it. I bought the console, I bought the damn game, now let me play it. Bluetooth is set up on PS3 just like it is on your phone, so that's just a BT hardware issue I suppose. If Sony charged whatever criminally high (as in, more expensive than free) price for PSN that Microsoft charges for XBLA, I'm sure the two would even out considerably.
Otherwise PS3 has fantastic multiplayer interaction. The interaction doesn't function on PSN strictly, though, you just have to be signed into the PSN. The game corporations make the online play however functional or disfunctional they want. Games like MAG and Uncharted have wonderful matchmaking options and BFBC2 has the same options as PC, etc etc etc. The thing that pushes online interaction with Xbox over is the console-to-console out of game interactions and whatnot that PS3 doesn't have, and honestly that's an extremely unimportant concern of mine.
Xbox, for me, is lacking:
Demon's Souls
Uncharted series
LittleBigPlanet series
Ratchet and Clank series
God of War series
Those are the kinds of games that I love, and when those kinds of games come out for Xbox, they also come out for PS3 at the same time, and PS3 has lots of those kinds of games that con ONLY be found on PS3.
I typically don't play any kind of downloadable games.. they tend to be a major waste of money in long run, since I spend like $15 for 5 hours of fun and never touch the game again. But on the off occasion I do, and the downloadables I get for PS3 also can't be found on 360. Yeah 360 has great ones that PS3 doesn't have, but downloadable games are already such an extremely low priority for me that I have no business buying a 360 for them.
It would literally be a console that collects dust on my desk. I would never buy a game for it unless it was exclusive, and I would never use XBL nor would I store data or play movies from it.
If there was some serious exclusive game output that kicked major butt for the 360, that I would enjoy, it might be worth it. But for right now, everything I'm interested in is exclusive to PS3, available on PC as well, or cross-platform.
It's a great system if you like the content and have the money to spend, but if you don't have the money and don't like the games.. no sense in getting it. And that goes both ways, for PS3 and 360.
Because I would totally give my left leg for one of those motion/user input ones. I'm really curious as to how that's going to effect gaming and the AI used...
That would be so much win.
Despite previous statements dismissing speculation of a new Xbox 360 to accompany the launch of new control system, Microsoft announced at E3 2010 that it was introducing a redesigned Xbox 360, complete with a Kinect-ready connector port. In addition, a new US$199 model is planned for release in the fall (around the time of the Kinect launch), and the redesigned Xbox 360 console is also to be available in a Kinect bundle.
Apparently there's a separate port for it and it's not USB.
(Forward to about 6 min 30 sec for part about Mario)
What this has to do with Secret of Mana though...beats me.
annoying "&featurerelated" crap. Here's the full link:

I love love loved Secret of Mana ... I rarely finish games, but I've played that one to completion at least five times since I was a kid. I don't know why they just can't seem to capture that spirit that it had in any of the sequels. ~:P It's like, Final Fantasy is their safe series that they don't really try anything innovative on, but like you said, then the Mana series gets to be their guinea pig for every weird gameplay idea they come up with, so every game just ends up uneven and uninteresting. Sadness. ~:(

plus i fixed one my self XDD
What's sad is that I take immaculate care with them too. Doesn't seem to help.
I think the last Mana game I bought was Sword of Mana for DS. And dude I fucking love Secret of Mana. I really wish Square would have stayed true to that world in some form or fashion.
I really love Legend of Mana on PS1, tons of shit to do and had co-op in it. Loved it and the art style (even if it took some getting use to) and the stories were great. Was a little sad that you kinda needed a player's guide to know what's where and what's what, but still too good.
The Mana games there after have been falling short which makes me sad :( Though it's cool to see that they have been bringing Flammie back, is he in this RTS version?
I am MORTIFIED theirs no art book for that game to. it easily had the best artwork in the series.
Yeah it's essential to have the guide on you, otherwise its like a game you can zip by ridiculously fast ;o
Well let me know when you come across Flammie in this one o: There is just not enough love for him, he's so adorable~
Bullshit

I've seen people go into my store and buy as many as 5 a year to replace older ones that get malfunctions. Even this week I had a guy tell me he got 3 and was buying another that day because he had two with a spare, and two had already RROD'ed on him within just a few years and Microsoft said the serial numbers were not on the recall. Its probably because they were too old, but why would you need to have to buy a bunch of spare consoles anyway?
x.x
That means my memory unit that came with a copy of Worms is useless if I have to get a newer model system D:
Man, I don't even have a 360 at all. One of these days!
