in primitive way really :D i made screengrabs with AVS DVD Player, there's an option for screengrabbing. (normal people use jasc or somethign liek that) :)
I prepeare frames in photoshop and then transport it all to image ready where each layer turns into aniamtion frame.

this is not a recolor, and not exact trace. It has notting to do with the original besides of the motion, and as far as i know motion isn't copyrighted.

It's not a ripped icon, it's a referenced walk cycle. She didn't trace the art or retint the art, or even use the character from the original, she drew new art for each based on a walk cycle animation. This is something every major 2d cartoon studio has done forever.

If you think an artist of any particular skill isn't worth about ten dollars an hour for an animation, even one based on someone else's walk cycle animation, you really need to do some research about artist's pay scales.

I'm in college for Game design. I can make a whole fucking game....coding, 3d Modelling, texturing AND Voice Reels...all by myself. Don't you talk to me about worth. :P

It's only motion which i borrowed for the first version (my avtar), and which use as a base right now. Character is mine or a person who orders it, and they are varied in shapes, sizes, colours etc..I can make it slimmer, fatter, change the breast size add clothes or hair, not to mention that I use more lines and shading for it. So how much in common this has? Just the recognizable movement, notting else matches.
