What's not `by me' about this?

Did you take the pictures?
I composed the image from freely-available and GFDL-licensed sources.
I am sorry it very clearly violates the rules.
If the picture was not made by you
or for you
you are not allowed to post it.
You did not take the pictures therefor the whole submission was not made by you.
if you were to draw a picture of Random jewels and a sub then you could submit it without issue.

Um, the licenses the images are under disagree with your upload policy. Go read the GNU Free Documentation License and the Creative Commons ShareAlike 2.5 License.

Our AUP is final regardless of what outside rules may govern the art in question.
Our rules state that if it's not by you, or for you, then you can't post it.
If you are that upset about it post a link in your user journal to the image. Creative commons images can very easily be hosted on imageshack or photobucket.

So, the fact that I created the image out of two freely-licensed images somehow escaped you?

but the images are not yours. It doesn't matter if you used them with a creative commons license or not. You did not create the images in question. You spliced them together, it's as simple as that.
I have given you two perfectly acceptable alternatives.
I am sorry for any inconvenience this this has caused you, but these are our rules.

Then what defines "creation"? You can scour the Internet for the image I uploaded and not find it, because I created it. It lives in /tmp/fuck/ on my hard drive.
Your rules are not legally enforcible, whereas the GFDL is. Were there a court ruling, it would be in my favor, as I have the paperwork to prove it, and you do not.
QED, bitch.
