Okay, look.

It's really pathetic that I've talked to 3 admins, and 2 of them _appear_ to have not read the submission agreement, and the third openly ADMITS to not having read it.
<yak> as i have already said, i'm not the one you should be asking. i don't follow the rule changes and don't bother myself to keep up with actual up-to-date information on how submissions are being handled. i'm just a tired cored who wishes to concentrate on what he does best and not have to take care of drama or public relations.
<yak> since you asked me, i tried to
<yak> help you out answering what i can, but.
<Pi> well
<Pi> this doesn't give me much hope, for what it's worth
<yak> in the end, it's just my personal opinions which does not really reflect the rules of the site
<Pi> that seems to be what the problem here is
<Pi> the legal protection afforded by the GFDL/CC-SA say that I created a derivative work, whereas the admins on FA have their personal opinions that I did not
<Pi> administrators of a website should not let their personal opinions cloud their judgement.
<yak> it's simpler then that. nobody's denying you made a deriavative work. but the rules of the site do not consider it to be art and thus do not allow you to post it.
<yak> it's not personal opinions, it's a set of rules Pinkuh's trying to follow. it's a tricky and an ugly subject to decide what to consider art and what not, but at some point it had to be done
<Pi> so where are these rules codified? And where in the agreement does it say that I must only upload art?
<Pi> my submission fits under the current agreement.
<yak> well, i dunno - i haven't read them to be honest. but i believe it should be blindingly obvious that an art site will accept art.
<Pi> great, another admin that hasn't read the fucking terms of the site.
<yak> i don't have to, because i din't go on enforcing them
<yak> it's not my job, simple as that
<Pi> You have an account on the site, they apply to you equally.
<yak> yes, but i don't upload anything that isn't an obviously allowed medium
<Pi> if you haven't read the agreement then how do you know?
<Pi> imho this site has a lot of potential
<yak> i was told so
the rules of the site do not consider it to be art what the fuck? where are these rules that state that I can only upload 'art' that meets a nebulous fucking standard?
i don't have to {read the rules of the site} why not? Do you sign legal agreements without reading them? That's an equally stupid move.
The only part of the submission agreement that Pinkuh could quote at me is this:
"You may freely post any submission so long as you created the content and said content abides by all other rules of the site."
Which doesn't seem to mesh with Yak's assertion that "nobody's denying you made a deriavative work".

First post on your journal.
Like i've said, i do not do the submission moderation, and i wasn't the one to approach about them. You decided to ask around still. You got my answers, which don't mean anything.
And yes, nobody's still denying you made an deriavative work. It just doesn't fly with FA's rules.
Let b represent the statement "It can be posted by Pi."
Let c represent the statement "Pi made a derivative work"
a implies b therefore b.
c implies a therefore a.
c therefore also implies b.
