Assistant Editors
A)What is an Assistant Editor and what do they do? Nice question! Basically, depending on the size of the publishing corporation, the assistant editor typically works directly with senior editors or the editor-in-chief; he or she may also work with authors, article writers, or reporters. Job duties are also varied, depending on the nature of the work and the size of the business. In general, an assistant editor in a newspaper or magazine will assist the editor in selecting stories for print. He or she may also do research, check statistics and facts presented in an article, edit articles for content or adherence to a particular style guide, and help with layout. This may involve selecting photographs, charts, graphs, or other illustrations to accompany an article. In addition, an assistant editor may need to come up with new ideas and assign stories to reporters, writers, or freelancers.

Copy Editors
b) What is this?Heres what they do! the chances are pretty good that anything written for publication will contain at least one grammatical error or erroneous statement. The task of correcting these copy mistakes falls upon an individual called a copy editor. A copy editor receives material from copywriters, reporters or freelance writers and uses his or her editing skills to polish it into publishable form. A good copy editor must be extremely knowledgeable in the ways of proper grammar and spelling, but the job often goes beyond basic editing. If the copy editor works for a newspaper, for example, he or she must also understand the acceptable journalistic style favored by that particular paper. Magazines and trade journals may also have their own standards when it comes to the use of jargon or the general reading level of their subscribers. It falls on the copy editor to make changes to the copy in order to maintain a consistent voice.

Art Director
h) What do they do? Various artists may create or develop specific parts of an art piece or scene; but a sole art director unifies the vision. In particular, the art director is in charge of the overall visual appearance and how it communicates visually, stimulates moods, contrasts features, and psychologically appeals to a target audience. The art director makes decisions about visual elements used, what artistic style to use, and when to use motion. One of the most difficult problems that art directors face is to translate desired moods, messages, concepts, and underdeveloped ideas into imagery. During the brainstorming process, art directors, coworkers, and clients are engaged in imagining what the finished piece or scene might look like. At times, an art director is ultimately responsible for solidifying the vision of the collective imagination while resolving conflicting agendas and inconsistencies between the various individual inputs.

Editor-in-Chief
k) What it its? An editor in chief (also called editor-in-chief and executive editor) is a publication's primary editor, having final responsibility for the operations and policies.[1][2] Additionally, the editor-in-chief is held accountable for delegating task to their staff members as well as keeping up with the time it takes them to complete their task. The term is generally applied to newspapers, magazines, yearbooks, and television news programs. The term is also applied to academic journals, where the editor in chief ultimately decides whether a submitted manuscript will be published in the journal as an article. This decision is made by the editor in chief after seeking input from reviewers, who are typically chosen by the editor in chief based on their expertise.

I could be editor-in-chief i guess

My mate hogs the comp too much because he uses it to make music and play around on the net. I barely get to check my own stuff without bugging him for a while first.
