"Furaffinity needs a Bovine species tab for the cow/bull furs!" from Ship-wreck's journal.
I wholeheartedly agree.
Also, both my
musclewolf (werewolf) and myself
(ungulate) are left out in the cold!
So is
bbisonario,
weaselZERO, and
zigzagziggy
This is MOOSE: (wikipedia):
"The animal bearing the scientific name Alces alces (an Ungulate species) is known in Britain as the Eurasian elk, and in North America and New Zealand as the moose. The term "Moose" is both singular and plural. The word moose is a borrowing from an Algonquian language, probably Narragansett, and according to early sources likely derived from moosu meaning "he strips off". WHAT??? Oh yeah, he strips off BARK, like from the trees, folks!! BARK!!! (perverts all of ya!)
Comment on ship-wreck 's journal here - http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1721391/ saying that you support the idea, and make a journal like this one spreading the word! (Make sure to also link your journal to hers! And don't forget your character reference!) You do that, and Shippy will make you a free little icon!"

Thank you very much! ou are so sweet!! *hugs*
people have been complaining about this for a while... apparently it will be alleviated in the (supposed) "update of FA" that's coming.
Also I think it's less of an issue now that we have search and tags.
(A mixed breed tab would suffice. Other does not)
From furry wikipedia: "The actual word "cervine" means "deer", and this family of herbivorous ungulates includes white-tailed deer, reindeer, and even moose. Male cervines typically have antlers, which are grown and shed in a yearly cycle of territory, dominance, and mating. Some females are anomalous, producing enough testosterone to also grow antlers; these antlers tend to be smaller. Such females are unlikely to participate in territorial aggression, as child-rearing is still one of their primary concerns."
So yes, you CAN technically call a Moose a cervine, but that's akin to placing the majestic, silverback mountain gorilla in with chimps. Quite a letdown, if you ask me.
