Hello, artists and art lovers!
I have an idea for a continuous art project that I think you might find interesting. Hear me out.
I've been in a commission frenzy this summer, and it occurs to me that while it's great to get pictures of my characters in various poses and scenarios and whatnot, if I'm going to be continuing at even half this pace, I need something to act as glue, something to really tie together all the work you folks do so that together we can create something greater than the sum of its arts [sic].
Thus, I am preparing to launch Project STORYLINE™, aka PS. Here's the idea in a nutshell.
PS in a nutshell
PS will be sort of like a comic or graphic novel that starts in the middle of a story. I will call it a 'comic' but it is not restrained to the 'comic' style, so if that's not your thing, you can still contribute. I will begin the comic by commissioning the first page, called Page X, from an artist of my choosing, call them Artist X. On that page will be a small snippet of a story involving one or more of my characters, and, at Artist X's option, one or more of Artist X's characters. Artist X will work on that with me, and eventually it will be done.
Once Page X is completed and posted, the real fun begins! The comic will grow from there, starting with either Page X-1 or Page X+1. If and when any other artist (or I!) comes up with an idea for Page X-1 or Page X+1, and there are funds available, I will commission that artist to draw that page.
The end result will be an evolving storyline that is told by many contributors, which will hopefully lead to lots of fun for all, and likely lead to a fair amount of chaos as well. But either way, I am hoping it turns into something really cool.
I've written up a first draft of the rules in this Google Doc, which includes the above text in the first page.
Let me know what you think!
Here are some examples of ideas for Page X that have plenty of untold story pages before and after it. This should give you a glimpse into my madness:
1 .. Artist X's character punching Rooth in the face
2 .. Rooth'roo, falling from a great height, looking worried
3 .. Aram, standing before a judge with Artist X's character at her side, pistol equipped
4 .. (borrowed from cougr's inspiring image) a suddenly giant vixen is on a hospital bed, panicking and covering herself, with a nurse looking up in "oops" shock, a syringe dropped at her feet, and a doctor looking at the nurse scornfully. Rooth is stealthily swapping out the syringe.
5 .. a magical ritual Rooth is conducting, on the verge of completion, is about to be interrupted by...
DISCLAIMER - if someone else has already done this before, or something like it, I'm completely oblivious. It seems like a cool idea to me, and so I wouldn't be surprised if it's been done before, but I personally have not seen it or heard about it.

I's interested. Hit me up around Christmas. I might still be alive after Semester 5 of DigiPen.
