Oh look, Allan is at it again!

Ayup. Seems his little feud with Dragoneer isn't over yet. This time he's trying to get back at him by threatening to sue for "copyright infringement" by hosting the many pieces he's commissioned in their creators' galleries. And in response... Dragoneer has caved and complied with his insane demand. I'm not sure who to rage at more, at this point.
This is what I got from an admin whose name has been removed to protect the innocent.
Due to recent threats made against Fur Affinity and Ferrox Art LLC. by one Mr. Allan Greenwald (aka Lupine Assassin), FA is being forced to remove images depicting Mr. Greenwald's character(s) from its website. We regret that we must take this action, but due to continued legal attacks by Mr. Greenwald, we are complying with his wishes that his intellectual content be removed from our website.
We apologize for having to take these actions. We do not agree with them, and feel that Mr. Greenwald is overstepping his legal bounds against the rights of artists. He has recently threatened action against Fur Affinity and its artists for displaying images of his character, or those which bear resemblances to his character.
In order to protect ourselves from costly (and time-consuming) legal trouble, we are forced to take proper measures, taking action to remove the pictures from our servers.
Once again, we apologize for having to take these actions.
Just thought you might like to know that Allan is still a colossal asshole.

Now let the artists he burned deal with it. I'm not wasting money, time or energy fighting this cretin.
Frankly, if this is how you respond to idle threats from someone like him, what's gonna happen when someone tries to take legal action against FA for something like, say, cub porn? Will you instamatically ban it all because you can't be bothered to fight the battle? (Feel free to take this discussion to notes if you're afraid to answer publicly; I totally understand.)
I've dealt with that. It's not pleasant.
Sure, if he was demanding something that any of the other users of the site cared about or that compromised the service they enjoy- Yeah, it should be fought. But this barely affects anybody but the inbred goon himself.
There are plenty other places we can draw his dumb, fantasy face character freezing in the streets amongst piles of porn and laugh at him for it
just call him on his bluff and ask him for proof of trademark.
Another reason it's probably just as well I'm not running things around here.
if anything, bending will only put in his mind that he's right and in all reality he's got to be reminded that he's not... if that means a heavy legal bitchslap, well, so be it.
I wouldn't be surprised if many of those artists felt like they were being caught in the crossfire of a personal pissing match between you and the retard.
And I don't have time to talk to lawyers, deal with this crap. TOO much going on.
But now write a memo to yourself, reminding to never let him return. Ever.
MOST GOOD.
Or we can just kick him in the balls. That works too.
Place original drawing/ref/description in an envelope. Seal it, stamp it. Take it to the post office and mail it to yourself.
It'll stand in court as an official © because it was sent through USPS.
One cannot copyright a character, though. One might copyright an image that the character might have been in, but not the character itself.
I'm thinking of the whole thing where an artist's content can be protected by law something or other
I'll shut up because I'll never remember what I was trying to say. <___>
It#'s copyright and characters can be copyrighted but only as part of a larger whole. For instance harry potter is copyrighted as part of the harry potter books. This means it includes all the specifics about the character, his or her relation to the rest of the whole excetra.
shit
fuck
him.
And now he's actually done something legitimately lame in my eyes. XD
...holy crap Allan really does fit the profile for Sociopathy - http://www.mcafee.cc/Bin/sb.html
When the ISP told me to remove all his images, I said fuck it. I'll comply with what they want.
Case closed.
I'll fight people WORTH fighting. All Allan did in this case is set his own bridges on fire.
here's what i'd suggest for 'Neer. don't budge and write a reply letter if you DO get a summons or whatever saying that as soon as he provides proof of trademark of said character (this is a trademark issue... NOT copyright) then you will comply. until such time as he does provide a legal document with legitimate proof that he has registered his character as a trademark, you will don't do anything.
..., and that's okay...
Personally if I was him and was "changing" like he said he is, I wouldn't want hate art of me floating around the site I'm hoping to come back to. I'm sure if he asked nicely to the 4 individual artists he could have saved himself the trouble of pretending to have a lawyer at the ready, probably not the smartest move for him.
All I can say really is: atleast he hasn't stolen more money!
The DMCA takedown notification system is a "take down first, ask questions later" system. Don'tcha just love it? Don'tcha just love how it can get legally protected parody/satire artwork taken down for at least two weeks by someone who's butthurt over it, rendering the protection of freedom of expression all but useless?

But that would be an ultimate Streisand Effect, and burn him permanently.
Seems like another incident that's going to be blown out of proportion.
From what I can tell, he's cleaned up his act. Time for us to move on.
If Allan had simply asked nicely, I do wonder how this would have played out.

"When the ISP told me to remove all his images, I said fuck it. I'll comply with what they want."
Every single artist who did business with that worthless, thieving furryporn fucking junkie, I hope you reflect on your mistakes.
