Cruelty has an Audio Adaptation!
After a LOT of work from some very, very dedicated folks, I was surprised this afternoon with the complete audio adaptation of my little comic, 'Cruelty'. It's crazy. . . some folks put a whole lot of time and energy into this thing, and it shows. You will laugh, you will cry, you will. . . probably giggle mercilessly during the adult scenes. . . I know I did. . . but please, give it a listen! It's the single most awesome piece of fan-made ANYTHING I've ever received, and I'm still in shock and awe. And awwwwwwwwwww :)

I loved the horse cop too, as well as some of the other side characters, I just wish there was a little bit more confusion in the nurses voice when saying, "next?"
Most of my sound effects come from Freesound.com, and to a lesser extent, Sounddogs.com.
Thank you Rukis for an amazing story.
And thank you Rahne for an amazing adaptation!
I cringed when I listened to it x.x I know the hard work but into this but it just frankly... didn't feel right. The voices sometimes sounded lazy or something. I'm not dissing anyone but the voices were off and IMO did not suit the characters very well.
Give this to professionals who have done this their whole lives or for someone who is extremely good at CG animation and this could be a good short video or something. Maybe extend abit on it if it did happen. IF though heh
And as it stands, I am currently a "professional" actor, too. But honestly? "Give this to professionals who have done this their entire lives?" There are very, VERY few people who would have gone so far as to make an entire, faithful adaptation of Rukis' comic. I can virtually guarantee that.
If you honestly think the voices sounded off or didn't fit, believe me, there's absolutely nothing wrong with feeling that way! Perhaps you interpreted the entire thing differently or maybe your "vision" was much different than mine, and that's totally cool, too! However..."I could put more emotion into something somebody wrote for me in 30 minutes or less and get 100% on that" I'd be careful with statements like that. Getting 100% on anything, acting-wise, is completely and utterly subjective, meaning, just you personally you think you did 100% on a performance, there's probably shitloads of people will disagree. That's because acting is subjective. Performance is subjective. I don't even think my own performance is 100% for Cruelty, but I know I gave it my all, and as a director, I expect the same from my actors.
But still, thanks for your opinion!
The whole thing was great though! If a little cliched at times, in a sort of soap opera-y way. I still liked it a lot though, and the hard work put into it really shows and shines!
Ah, the products of 5am craziness~
Also, some work could be done with the editing, it's ok to have a second or two between lines. Loved the music though, and I still think it's good overall, will definitely be keeping a hold of this, I would just suggest, maybe a revision, perhaps.
As for a revision? Uh... no way. :P It took me over six months to get this freaking thing done. XD I'm not going to be like George Lucas and keep revising and reediting my stuff over, and over, and over, and over again, and re-releasing it over and over again, to keep making it "better and better." When you do that kind of thing, it starts to lose it's authenticity and it's appeal. It's like... kicking a dead horse. You have to remember, I'm just one person. One, single person, who directed, edited, and did everything myself, aside from the voice acting, which I called on other people to help me with. It's almost maddening when you consider exactly just HOW much work I put into this thing. :) A revision is just... not even on my radar.
Thanks for your honest criticism, though! It lets me know what I need to improve on in the future. :) Constructive, honest criticism is always good.
As for revising, I understand not wanting to take the time, though I don't feel that revision is necessarily a bad thing.
And revision isn't always a bad thing, true! It's just a lot to do. Revising means improving. But if I do it, once, I'm likely to do it... again... and again... and I don't want to fall into that habit.

That would be neat. XD
Just listened to the whole thing. It made me laugh so much, and parts almost made me cry! IT WAS AMAZING!!!

Btw I still plan to get an actual copy once I'm able to ^_^
Oh and to Marcus' voice, in the beginning he sounds kinda set-up, like it's not natural, and towards the end he really seems to get into it. He clearly IS Marcus in the end...
Great job =) Now if you could only earn money with it I'd say it was well worth the work.
It doesn't have to make money to be well worth the work. :) The fact that we all love what we do, that we could all come together to create this for the fans and for my favourite artist, all the praise, the fact that Rukis LIKES it, the fact that some of the people I admire like it... everything about this... just made it well worth it, for me. :)
