I could debate about this, really. I think the idea that when a person is 16, 17, even 15, they're considered the exact same as a 5 year old, but when they hit the magic age of 18, a maturity light switch just flips on and they're suddenly a full-grown adult and everything is okay. Development doesn't work like that, teens only one or two years younger than 18 are not still toddlers and can be perfectly normally sexually mature, and laws and rules that adhere so strictly to that arbitrary age are ridiculous.

I'm not blaming FA for rules like these or anything, and I understand the fear that would cause one to want to follow the rules to a T, but there's such a thing as being overly cautious or paranoid.

(Plus, y'know who else is underage? Every FH character that isn't a parent or adult, 16-17. So if this does go more out of hand, no more porn of them here! :| )

Well, it's supposed to be Sonic porn with the characters drawn as they are canonically. If they're "matured" or whatever, i.e. they look like adults and are adults, that's fine I guess. The thing is, though, that's the way Sonic and such are drawn is an art style, not really intended to be "cub art". Like chibi-style, I guess.

Why worry about fabbing to Sonic porn from this site? There are plenty of other sites that have cub art to fap to if that's what you are talking about. FA to be honest is looked down upon by many furries and furry sites because of the rules, guidelines, and some of the people.

I don't really fap to Sonic porn itself, it mostly involves my fetishes and Sonic or whatever character being in it is unrelated.

But the problem for me isn't Sonic porn specifically, just that we're starting to get to the point that we're going to start banning this and that due to ridiculous laws and fear and paranoia of consequences. It's as if you got spanked for taking a cookie from the cookie jar and you are not afraid of all cookies because you believe they'll result in spanking.

And herein lies the problem with making up rules/laws about fictional characters. There are so many damned gray areas that you can't ban one thing without going on that "slippery slope" everyone's talking about in pursuit of fairness.

Here's another point that may eventually surface if this isn't nipped in the bud: What constitutes "porn" exactly? This is a fetish website. Sexuality is an incredibly broad term here, so do fetishes count as porn? If I drew Tails eating/getting eaten by someone, is that porn since vore is a fetish? If so, how about feet, which are considerably less extreme? Does it matter whether the artist gets off to the picture or not, or is it just something that anyone could consider a fetish? If that's the case, we just can't draw anyone under 18, period, since, for all we know, someone might have an eye fetish or something equally impossible to hide.
Alright, so let's say fetishes are out then, restricting the ban to just standard screwing. Does that include sexual touching? Kissing? Do we draw the line at French kissing, or a peck on the cheek? This is complicated too.
Alright. Even better: Let's restrict the ban to sexual penetration. Everything should be simpler, right? Oh wait, not much. Does the penetration have to be explicit, or does implied penetration count too?
Where does nudity fall into the whole scheme anyway? Can you do "tasteful nudes" of childlike characters? If they're flaccid, is it okay, or are all kiddie-cocks out of the question?

Sorry, but this whole thing is a crock of shit, and the admins aren't helping by springing these mandates on us in their "Oh yeah, and this" fashion that they're so used to. There. My two cents.

I understand where you're coming from. You're worried that this underage policy is going to get way out of hand to the point of no return. That it will get so bad that your characters will soon be in jeapordy. I understand that.

But a policy is a policy. I think it has to do more with federal law than anything. Even though we're talking about fictional characters that are Japanese here. The only porn they might be able to get away with is Vector porn, seeing as he is in his twenties (last time I check. I might have to research that again.).

It's sort of ridiculous when there's a further claim that even if they're aged 30 years, they're still banned because they "look" the same (i.e. drawn in the damn Sonic style). There's no law against furry underageism, and even if there was, we're talking about teenagers, not children.

I can go on a rant again about how 15-17 should not be considered kid-age or how 18 is not a magic adult-making number or how 17-year-old boys have been charged with statutory rape for having sex with their 14 or 15 year old girlfriends... but that's not really on-point. The point is that they're banning this stuff in fear that companies will turn them down for handling their money and donations and accounts and such because they're afraid they'll see it as 'cub porn' like AlertPay did and shut them down, and I really don't think Sonic stuff would be perceived as that. This is ridiculous, censorship can suck my left nut. People have sex under the age of consent, it happens and they can't stop it. I totally support them fighting child exploitation: I don't want any pictures of videos of people under 18 online. That makes sense.

But what is the benefit of removing art involving people under the age? It's not exploiting children for fuck's sake.
