The door to Day 6 pops open, and it looks like we're off to the circus!
The proper name for this cartoon is "Ginger Nutt's Christmas Circus." This short has been included on public domain holiday video collections for many years, but always in an abbreviated, abridged form. This beautiful Technicolor print I found on YouTube includes the entire footage of the original.
Former Disney animator David Hand created the Animaland series and its star, Ginger Nutt the squirrel in 1946.

That parrot so got what he deserved. I just wish it was still legal for us carnies to do that to the troublemakers in most places (Though the cops let us in Crestview, FL and McAllen, TX that I know of.)

The first time I saw this was when Dave Murz screened a B&W print of a Christmas episode of Howdy Doody (it was part of the program). The Animaland DVD is a definite must-have item.
