Rudolph's history began as a promotional giveaway booklet from Montgomery Wards back in 1939. This theatrical cartoon version by Max Fleischer and Jam Handy was made in 1944, before the famous song was recorded. It was reissued in 1948 with the song added to it, and all existing copies seem to have it now.
