This was my first time helping out with New Years Furry Ball and I personally had a fantastic evening even though the next morning, my legs were sore, my head ached, and my body was exhausted. Never before have I experienced such a memorable new years. When I think back to the night I am genuinely smiling. I seriously can't wait to do it again next year.
We've already got tons of ideas on what we can do better next year, but luckily we've got approximately 360 more days to iron it all out. We're thinking of trying to have some more events going on for a few of the lulls and try to put a little more focus into the video game section of the event. Of course if you guys have any suggestions on what you want to see us do then let us know!
If you guys are looking for pictures from the event be sure to check out TJ Coyote's page which has links to a lot of the picture galleries for the night! http://tjcoyote.com/events/2010-12-31-nyfb/
And if you guys haven't seen it yet Oreo has produced one of his awesome videos the for a just as awesome night! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3h-u8sKJv0
There are a number of folks I want to thank personally who helped make the night as good as it was:
- Protocollie: Dude it was an absolute blast to work with you. The night couldn't have happened without your experience and energy. Your expertise in setting up audio and visual equipment was crazy invaluable. And you handling talking to the hotel deserves some mad kudos. It was an honor to lead this event with you.
- Giza: Having you on site and being the main man handling registration was such a relief. Your experience in full-fledged conventions made things go super smooth. Thanks a ton!
- Icepaws: You were helping Giza with registration and I gotta say you are a trooper. You were able to hang out there and when I filled in for registration a few times you were the one to show me how to handle it! Thanks!
- Clementine: You came by my place the nigh before and helped make sure the badges were ready and looked good for the night of the event. You even gave a hand with the initial registration rush. Pleasure working with ya girl!
- Weaver: Holy smokes dude you brought your Rock Band xbox set and it rocked the house. Your volunteering of your console was awesome!
- AbelPhellan: You're donation of speakers made Rock Band rock like I've never heard it before. Thanks dude!
- LupineSpark and his brother Andrew: I gotta say guys, you really saved our butts by running out to wal-mart and finding another copy of Rock Band 3 after the first disc broke. I was super glad you guys were there!
- Reaux: Oh man the night wouldn't have been what it was without your gophering for us! Much appreciation! Your toolbox proved invaluable during setup and you even ran to wal-mart to pickup an HDMI cable for us! Not to mention you helping keep the headless lounge staffed was super cool of you! And don't even get me started on how awesome you are for doing the banner ad we used on FA and the badges we used throughout the night! Both the banner and the badges rocked!
- Bartlett: I felt so bad about having you stick out by the headless lounge but I am really glad you did! We owe you one!
- Inu-Desu: You voluntarily bought some pizzas for the early birds and then ran to k-mart for us to grab a cash-box, masking tape, and xbox controller batteries for the night. Thank you SO MUCH! You even loaned us your laptop to use for the balldrop, and even though we wound up not using it I appreciate ya volunteering it!
- White-Paw: Your machine not only made the visualizer happen for the music but it also climaxed the evening by livestreaming the balldrop!
- BlackFoot: During teardown the next morning it was nice to have an extra pair of paws as mine were dead tired. Thanks for bein' there!
- The hotel staff of the Embassy Suites: There's a lot of you who without the night wouldn't have been possible! Thank you so much for letting us rock out!
- Felix: the hotel manager who came through for us in more ways than one! He got us the room for the headless lounge last minute and the idea to use a projector for the rock-band setup was all his! We look forward to working with you again!
- All of our sponsors: I want to thank all of you that chipped in that extra $15. It goes a long long way to making an event like this rock as much as possible. You can be sure that we'll be putting your donation to good use come next year!
- All of our attendees: I want to give a gigantic shout out to everyone that showed up for our event. Protocollie and myself just led the thing that night, it was all of you that made it so memorable. The furry community around here is utterly fantastic and I'm honored that you came out to celebrate New Years with us. We look forward to doing it again next year and we hope you do too!
And that's it for the 2010-2011 New Years Furry Ball! Hope to see all of you and more new faces next year!
As always if you have any raves, nays, comments, or complaints then please let us know! The New Years Furry Ball only happens once a year and your comments will help ensure we nail it!
